Marmong Point, NSW, AU

One of the most pleasant ever !!!

Warm flat water, warm not too gusty wind. Perfect for a 7m sail.

Most pleasant!!!

Marmong Point, NSW, AU.

Great conditions windwise for my 2012 Loft 6.3 Racing Blade and 1000W Sabfoil front wing for a while but I think the Queen Mary must have started doing laps along  Warners Bay  because there ended up being constant knee high corrugation of the water apart from normal wind chop in a different direction which made sitting on or around 20 knots very sketchy for someone of my ability. So I aborted the session early.

Marmong Point, NSW, AU. Perfect foil day! So I went out on the Isonic with a 7.0 and a 45 cm fin. The board blows me away - keeps planning at 11.5 knots it just keeps going til the next gust. Amazing bit of kit.

5- 17kts E Coal Point, NSW, AU- lumpy as with jetski , yacht , boat wake - yuck

7.2m moto - WT64 ( 112ltres) - 35cms tectonics weed demon

 then WT57 ( 90ltres) - 28cms WT weedy

My expectations were too high. I was itching to have a few fun runs down past the point . Huh! Undecided

The forecast was for 15-20kts so I was a bit worried putting the 7.2m up especially the Moto with it's wide luff tube..I didn't think it was that windy so used the big board at 1st. Horrible!

I went across to the caravan park area to adjust stuff and there were 6 jetskis roaring around doing figure 8s in the patchy area where I was trying not to fall in..then leftover boat wake made for smashing into the cross chop. Even the WT's couldn't cope. I couldn't power on and it was horrible..

All the stats are from that run. I came in and swapped to the 90 knowing it would be too small for the lulls . I can't uphaulthat combo so I was worried about falling in and not having enough to get going..I did a plod above the point but it didn't get any better and had died to a patchy 5 - 15kts..

I could feel my PLB bouncing around on my back and assumed it had fallen off and was on the end of it's leash. I wasn't game to stop as there wasn't much wind but an unexpected lull got me anyway.

I would have been ok except I spent some time sussing out the PLB ( it was ok) but the sail had filled with water and the wind wasn't very strong.

I had trouble getting it out of the water due to the weight and lack of wind. I even considered floating in and walking back. I eventually got going.

The lovely bearaway wasn't to happen as it was only 12kts..eventually I got going and had a couple of 100ms which were fun.

I muffed the gybe ( too b lumpy and light) . I'll say one thng , I'm getting better at getting onto the sail to keep it up out of the water..

Might have been ok if I had gone out on the small board at 1st when the wind was up and then swapped to the bigger one when it died and the waterstate was a bit better..

 It's all easy in retrospect..Undecided

Remind me to avoid the lake when it's overrun by kids on jetskis and boats.. ugh!

Andrew and Nic on wings , Tony on the windfoil , me on fin and other wingers.

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU. CA92, Ezzy Lion 6.5, 18 flex warp. Wind fading, went in to try the fangy fin on the board for comparison but too light so went with patrik 120 and 23 pepe for some glides across the smooth. The flex fin took off like situation normal. Felt like a fangy fin. Going good, a couple of minor spinouts when i pushed way too hard up wind and easily recovered. Today was probably the day for me to smoke newbie smuggler Brian but I can maybe blame the rubber banana fin as handicap I think 😁 So, all good. Happy days. Great to sail with Brian and Fergo was cruising nicely.
