sboardcrazy (28007km): ![]() 10-15kts then 10-15/18kts SSW level 0.41m Sailed 11 - 1 with break to change boards. 6.5m Turbo - Rs4 - 21.5cms FF ( cutdown 24) then 6.5m on Ca95ltre - 16.5cms Pepe fin Pleasant sunny practise day. After the last horrible session I just wanted a session where I could link some gybes and have fun. Tick. I probably could have had the 7.2m up at 1st but it has no bottom end so I went with the 6.5m with the plan to change boards. 1st session 40mins.Mitch and I. I worked my way up to the pole for a few gybes. Only one underpowered bearaway coming in ( 24kts). It started to come up a bit so I played it safe and came in. 2nd session - I'd been dreading trying the CA . It's long and narrow and I didn't think I'd be able to gybe it. I was super surprised to fly in and out of the 1st gybe.. It keeps speed better than my other boards and is super easy to gybe.. I wasn't much good at getting upwind as I only had the 16.5cm in and I'm not used to the board. I didn't want to lose ground so I just practiesd gybes. Only one underpowered bearaway on the way in. Probably lucky as I don't know the combo yet. The stance is a bit wide for my size but I'll just have to live with it. My boom head has needed shimming for about a year. Severne said it wouldn't break and gave me a shim but I've been too scared to try and take everything apart. It was really wobbly today so I'll have to find a way. I was getting tired and I came in just as it started to get some decent gusts..Baz , Mitch , Jimmy and I out Everyone else was going out as I packed up. Looking forward to the 1st time I get a powered bearaway in the flats.. I finally made 28,000kms.. | ||||||||||||||||||
