Kev (2362km): ![]() Lake Cargelligo, NSW, AU SW 5-12 knots FMX 176, Neil Pryde V8, Axis 1099 Water was a bit shallow at Gum Bend Lake but great facilities for Free Camping. Donation only. Headed to Lake Cargelligo to have a go in deeper water. (4m). Went from Frogs Hollow which was not ideal but plenty of gusts to get going. Tricky area but water was frexh and flat. Surprised at the speeds but fresh is fast I reckon. Hit about 20 Carp that were cruising on the surface sunning themselves. One I saw was almost a metre long. Dodged it and hit one ahead of it. Enjoyable outing in a spot I didn't intend to go to. Back on Lake Mac on Monday.
sboardcrazy (28128km): ![]() 12-19kts SSW -Valentine, NSW, AU 6.5m Turbo- WT64 ( 112ltres) 1 run then WT57 ( 90ltres) 1st decent wind on LM since last season. I need to be younger and fitter.. 1st powered sail on Lake Macquarie this season. I was buggered after the 1st run. The chop was messy so the 112ltre although better in the lulls was too big and tiring in the chop. 2 sec on the 90. The yachts were racing and a pain to avoid while on and off the plane. It came in after Luke went out. I think he would have been hanging on. Just me and 1 winger and 2 Parawingers who were struggling at 1st. It Looks like a hard sport to learn. Zzz. Thought I'd include this to refer back to ( hopefully when I'm fitter)..
Lake Mac Robbo (959km): ![]() Valentine, NSW, AU, Patrik 135, Patrik Ride FR 6.8, Select Carbon 41 That was a really good session despite the fact I spent half of it overpowered. One of the better southerlies we've had in a while. I genuinely appreciate the modern sails that handle overpowered conditions well and don't try to kill you everytime a gust hits
