Porter Lagoon. +35kt NNW. 63L JP speedie, 5.2 Racing Blade, 16 MUF delta. Mental. Conditions were beyond me. But super flat. Gear was great. That 5.2 RacingBlade is totally dialed in with a broad wind range. Chopped a 20 year old NP 430 SDM mast to 416cm I brought off a guy in Elizabeth last January for 80 dolla. It's perfect. So, it's the idiot behind machine (IBM) that is the issue with the results today. The water level is down. I was scrapping my 16 Delta through the few gybes I did. The water is so slippy, and much more muddy than two weeks ago. Wind was so gusty. I didn't do any gybes, as I knew that would burn out my wrists after 1 run. So I did start stops. I managed that for about 4hrs.

I experimented with boom grip. I wound biseal (silicone) tape around my boom a night before the session. This stuff is used for cable fabrication. It's super grippy. I was thinking, this is the answer to all my problems. Unfortunately, it was no match for PL's Canola water and actually made it worse. So, I tried the mechanics gloves (the same brand Stash uses). They weren't gripping this biseal stuff. So, I went in, and cut the biseal off the boom using a stanley knife, and used the mechanics gloves by themselves. Much better. These made a diffrence. Thanks for the tip Stash.

Great to catch up with a few of the team today. It was my first time at boggy in a long time. Glad I went. I had a great time. By the time I hit the water, the wind had reduced and it wasn't as gusty.
