5m Mach2 - 95ltre CA - 16.5cms pepe

I had to drop my WT in for regripping .There was a good WNW in the am but I figured I'd only have 1hr before it turned so I'd wait for the S.

Forecast was dodgy - some saying it would be SSE which is crap..

 Hit with a vengeance at 12.30. I was worried it would be another over the top sail. My meter read 15-21kts on the shore.

 Started to rig the 5m - 80ltre but it faded so I got the 95 and 5.5m ..Mike said it was back again so I changed to the 5m. ( clever ploy.. ).

 It died to 10 kts and I almost didn't bother going out. Used the bigger board for the lulls and small sail in case the strong stuff came back in.

 The graph was saying the level was 0.23m..If I'd know it was going to get deeper I would have stayed up higher.

Watching the others to learn where to go.

I struggled to get upwind underpowered with the little fin. The only time I powered upwind was in a decent strong patch.

 I usually don't  like S as I don't like to go down near the deep water. I misjudged a few times and jumped in to find it chest / neck deep. 

 You've got to watch the oldies..I saw Bruce stop and thought " ok it's shallow" .. nah neck deep.. another ploy? 

 I got one powered run for the 2 sec. looking forward to one day being super powered and hitting flatwater.

 I got excited today. The 2 sec run I checked my watch..My eyesight isn't great and the numerals were close together and it looked like I had 37kts..I thought ' no way ! I wasn't that fast " and sure enough it was 31.6kts.. Oh well I'm happy with that. It's all practise.

 Looking forward to some gybe practise in the NErs this week.

 It died so we all came in.. of course it kicked back in after we'd derigged.
