Shit where do I start.

Well let's start with tea the night before, After about 2kg of steak the night before to get some energy for a discussed distance day well,  woke at 3am sitting my pants after a shart that I thought would be a good fact. 🤣

Not great so cleaned my self up and emptied the remainder ☺️☺️

Well it didn't end there about an hour later back out digging a hole at 4am.

Soon after feeling crap, 3 hours sleep and no training or sailing much lately

    SURE distance day great idea.

After no more bow movements or sleep rigged in the dark hoping for some good wind. After watching Daishy for an hour me and Carl decided their was enough wind. The first 100km for me where gruling as I was even gluging at times. Nothing else to report except felt like i was going to poo my wetsuit for the first 150km, that and at the 230km Mark me and Carl headed in to charge out useless watch battery's ⌚️.

I was feeling beat up and not sure how I would go on but after a much needed port I was back in the great mental game and had my Mo Jo back.

Me and Carl headed back out and to help with the boredom we started doing speed runs. Not great when going for distance but it sure was put blasting the flats with Carl. He was on fire 🔥  yesterday by the way.

I had in my head I'll do 300 plus km but then thought Carl and Pete will both have Pbs and I want one too God damn it 😭😭.

So game on had to get another 120km in the dying sun and best way was to head up with Daishy and do some long fast runs as time was against my Pb. Also managed a good hour up there 😀

The sun and my watch would both be an issue. Really happy to keep Daishy company for the last few hours when he must have been feeling it Mentally and physically,

Yea ha I have done it bloody he'll. 410km up. Soon after Daishy had the world record and we were both cheering 🍻 so happy to be there to witness such an Amazing achievement. 👏   well done mate 👏 👍 👌  Just Awesome.  So after pushing Daishy to get to 600km we came back in the Pitch black and struggled to make out the 2 Islands as we went thought on our way home. Simply a perfect way cruising over the weed in the dark to finish an Awesome day.

Well Done on the Pb to both Carl and Daishy

Lake George, SA, AU

Wow what a day at the golden lake one of the best 😊.  Up at 5am to do ks but the wind was patchy at the start.  Sam and me rigged and waited and daishy headed out for an initial glug. The wind soon came in.

Sesh 1 on Patrik 115 / 6.9 loft racing blade and 24 fangy.

The fangy was rock solid across and upwind / downwind - managed a 35 knot peak and mile and hour on this setup - went in at 1pm for a GPS recharge and sail and board change.

Sesh 2 on Patrik 87 / 6.3 loft racing blade / tribal 20 delta sym - another great kit.

Did a few speed runs down near the spit before cruising to get the ks and pb.  Had some great runs with Sam and Pete.  Managed a 40 knot screen and 39.75 but 2 sec was pulled back lol.

Hope for some wind in the next few days so I can get on the speedy...

Lake George, SA, AU (10 to 12 knots at dawn built to 25 knots shifting from SW to S from about 10 am.)

What a blast!! thought I'll give the record a go solo, dawn till dusk and with a new moon it was going to be pitch black by 9pm.

Set off at 6am with 113L with 7.8 gun GSR 24 tribal full delta. slow start for the first hr  achieving maybe 30 kms then wind built over the morning to insane 25 knots with my big gear. I had a tight schedule so reluctant to change but it was good that my harness broke at 285KM mark so sail in on arms and change harness, some food, and FMX 98 L racing board and 7.0GSR gun, 22 delta sym.

nice combo and did literally 4 25.5hr in a row from cockies to uncle kevs, nice flat section across there and this is where i was going to stay. tried few alphas and 2 speed runs but this was a ridiculous thought as I got caught in weed etc.  what was I thinking?

Jimbob came over for a sail for a few runs. at 4pm I had done 400kms.  It was going to be tight. Thank goodness I was on the FMX. I could do 50kmhr across wind. with turns and gps checks I just hoped the wind would hold strong.

Was feeling strong except my hand strength due to carpal surgery 7 weeks ago. Started to have trouble grabbing boom after the turn.

Luckily all day I missed 3 gybes, although the last 3 hrs lots were off the plane

Sam came over for the last 3 hrs and we smashed it out finsihing in pitch black last run through the islands was scary and 35 knots across weedbeds home was just by feel.

Thanks Carl and Sam for coming out early, 1450kms between us. Wow.

thanks to my awesome wife, who has let me retire early. I am very grateful and proud of myself.

no photos yet as finished in the dark. nice to do whole process by myself, set up , rig , food , drink  emergencies, finished bringing stuff off the water and semi derigging at 10;30pm.

Thanks to Gun Sails, FMX racing boards and Tribal fins helping me out. !!

Peter Daish

Hey Blah,  I run the GW 60 for about 160kms then in pelican case I put it on charge with an external battery ( small one) and carefully close the case ( get one with a clear top to it then you can see that the terminals are connected and charging .  yes its works whilst charging. then it charges and records. charged in about 3 hrs and then just keep saying full charge all day.  I run a garmin forerunner 245 music on my wrist and this lasted with 20 min charge on shore till 520kms.. I watch this the most, set on my current hr"" trying to hold 25 knots.  when it died I stopped and then put the gw60 on my wrist to see the data although I couldnt readit when it got dark. lol  last 10 minutes.

then I ran 1 mini motion all day but it run out and put another on at 1pm and will join the files together.  Daffy said this is perfectly legal.

Next time?  I dont normally do ä next time"  I would run 3 motions with display ( 30 hrs ) plus gw60 as the mini are sooo not user friendly for feedback on battery status etc.. i have yet to try and see if they charge and read at same time then you might in able to cyovac them ???? together?? or tape them??

I always use the gw60 like as describe in noemal sailing as I always run the battery flat and it protects the terminals from corrosion. Have had it set to just show my best 2 sec run so when I stop I have to take back pack off and check, just in case the garmin is telling lies. lol. my mini is also in the clear case

I also used a case that you can get from bunnings with 4 latches.  I alway test them underwater for 30 mins to check.  this held my phone on charger with strava going and live streaming my progress to my wife and friends. also had blue tooth speakers in ears to spota so that i could listen to music and take phone calls. all seeme to work but music ran out in 5hr but i saved that time for the middle section which is always the toughest in endurance events.

although when I got to 6pm and thought 3 more hrs of  hard sailing as I was severely under the pump, like down to the minute I knew I had 5 mins stopping time max, I did think how was I going to sail that fast after 12 hrs, but Sam came up and I just made out we were racinng as usual and Sam pulled a 26.5 I think hour across wind ( crazy )  I couldnt gybe as quick as too buggered.

hope that makes sense . happy to ask more questions is want

food 2 litres of water with lemon cordial (  I know, but thats what I like) 6 nut bars 2 up and go's, and hot mild curry when I came in quicky put on the gas as I rigged the 7m which was semi rigged waiting.

Hi Kate, I have a performance nutrition back ground so lolol  so bit embrassed by my nutrition but wasnt prepared.  I am a 40/30/30 type of theorical athlete. 40 fat, 30 carb 30 protein,  up an go kind of fit the bill, nut bars are a bit the same, water for hydration, cordial for taste ( emotional stability ) lol and sugar. I weas fit enough so didnt really need electroyle replacement although i did notice my whole wetsuit and top was salty but probably lg salt.

Sam's 2 kg of steak was absolutely redioculous.  He wasnt thinkin at all about performance.
