hoppybogan (25958km): Stansbury, SA, AU SE 10-20+ SSX 90, HSM GPS 5.5, BP 23.5 weedy,BPS 32 Didn't hurry to get out, was a bit sore from yesterday. Tricky was settling in for an hour attempt and Simon was trying out his new 2015 Isonic, which looks great on the water. The wind wasn't there early and i came in to change fins to the upright BPS 32. Still not happy with that choice came in and changed back to the weedy. A few sail adjustments and the wind picking up and then it was good. Found a bit of mirror out at the 3km lease and jagged a 35.
PJ (24612km): 10-01-15 Lake George-SE 18-28 knots-JP Speed 54-Loft Blade 5.6m-MxR Weedy 26cm then Choco Weedy 24cm Divided into x2 sessions today. First felt overpowered and tried for an hour but was pretty well knackered half way through plus my MxR 26cm hit some rocks after semi sinking a gybe on the east side. Came in dejected and stuffed with 51 kms on the odometer. Had a natter with Danny Q for a bit and after he left I looked over at my kit thinking come on fella make a couple of tweaks and see how you fare. Moved mast track a tad forward and switched in the Choco 24cm and also added extra 3-4mm of downhaul. Now on first run out and in thought and felt a bit more in control. Now when going into dive bomb bear-aways thought a couple runs were FAAST for the likes of me. I've never seen a 70km and over before so I gave myself a wry smile of triumph! I'm surprised I racked up another 50 kms as was resting after 2-4 runs which was mandatory lol!! Also had a ripper balls-up smash, totally screwing up a gybe at speed on the west side then somehow backwinding the clew which somehow the sail then face planted itslef onto my head lol!! I sure Sam and Karl were ripping up the track as was Dr Cam who seemed to be playing dodge with the rock shoals on the East side. Also said a hello to Chinaman.
Captain bogan (50514km): Day 1 - road trip to the Golden lake with Sam. Started out doing a 1 hour but 30 minutes in i hit a rock at rod's rocks and damaged fin so headed back for speed board. Happy with a high 38 knot peak on Partrik 87 slalom. Tried the newly acquired Techart 18 but too small to use with 5.5 and choppy and gusty so changed to the Vector weed speed 23. 2nd run in i had a 40 on the screen. Running down in front of cockies was a bit of a gamble with the gusts and was choppy in some areas. The weed is growing well near the shore but was ankle deep in this spot. Great day and keen for tomorrow.... Hope it is a bit windier so i can use the Techart 18. Lake George - 20 to 28. Patrik 87 / 5.5 Hotsails GPS and 31cm Black Project weed speed. Jp Speed 45 / 5.5 Hotsails GPS / Vector weed speed 23 / Techart 18 weed soeed for one run.

Sammy (43182km): Lake goerge with carl. Wind 18 to 25 with a couple of 30 gusts. great fun. went out with 95 falcon first but it felt shit. thought the hour would be shit so changed to the AB speed board and a 23 Gun weed control from Gareth. it was the first time out on this fin and it felt really good and did not let go once witch is a bonus at 40 plus knots. fun day will hopefully have more fun on day 2. wind looking good.love this place. wish it was premo all year round. guess it wouldnt be special then?
Tricky Bogan (21799km): Well it was a Tricky kinda day Rigged the 5.8koncept & spent half the day thinkin the 6.6 would have been better,,,, but all in all was a good choice Half way in the session my knee was givving me buggery the one that I injured falling out of a tree I was climbing to get away from a pissed off angry sister but that s another story solidier on to knock out some reasonable Km's. Got passed by a flying Simon on one leg who has improved & now only has to tame the new Isonic Hoppy was buzing around having a great sail jagged the glassy water and great gust to top the day peak speed by 3knots well done |
