Slowboat (53720km):
5146 days ago 6.2m E3, 112L/68cm Mistral, CL29. wicked morning after sail. Same board and fin cos I was loving it yesterday. Wind 18-23 at best so I decided to rig up the 6.2m with a 1995 made mast for power mode. Wow. Got some nice bullets in the middle of the river, and was planing most of the time thanks to the board size. Fin was rock solid while I was going, and had complete confidence comletely smashing thru and bouncing over chop. There were nice patches of flat water and gusts to be found, with lots of light (sub 10kts at times) patches, and patches of crazy nasty cross chop with bullets smashing over. Was planing most of the time, but perfectly powered up for about 10 seconds total in ~80km of sailing. Totally sick setup in these conditions. Didnt bother with a NM because I never got the chance to avoid any sub 10kt holes on the run. I started plenty but only got a few hundred metres in before encountering a sub 10kt hole. Bad timing. A bit more wind with this combo will do 40s I think. Spewing I stacked a gybe- first one in about 300km of sailing (incl yesterday). My big boards are sick. Nice to unwind with pretty similar numbers in much less wind due to the significantly flatter water today. Stoked to be able to use a small sail and fin again.
