Away for the weekend at Culburra Beach. Having ventured into the waves on Friday and been comprehensively minced, I took to the safefy of the Lake on Saturday. Super gusty, very tough conditions. Tried at first with my slalom board and 6.2 but was overpowered and constantly bogged down by weed, so switched to my Exocet waveboard and 5.3 North Ice. Happy days! Amazing location, surrounded by national park with tons of bird life including a big flock of black swans.
Hard to get any speed out of the wave sail though. Plenty of pull going across the wind but bear away even a bit and it depowers massively. Had a few odd moments when the fin (stock Exocet 23cm) let go when going downwind too - not ideal...
