Mike G (11070km): A nice sail at Stithians with some of the non-workers! It was a similar wind strength to yesterday (Marazion) but quite a bit gustier. The conditions were pretty similar to what we get at Brog... just longer reaches than we get back home. Like yesterday my best speeds seemed to be where I least expected. Heading off towards the dam seemed to work best today as the wind never had any guts in front of the launch area. Decent hour and alpha for a gusty lake, lol. We started the day with a session of body boarding. I could easily get used to this lifestyle. :) Stithians Lake, United Kingdom | ||||||||||||||||||
Stephen Squirrell (34966km): With no wind forecast this week I was surprised when returning to Felixstowe from work to find 13 mph of wind :) I was back at The Fludgers and rigged by 4 !!! The wind was a bit light to start but filled in alittle and in the end it was about 3mph off a 5 Star session !!! I spent 2 hours beating down the coast as far as Landguard and reaching back. The beat was best planning upwind on the plate but the wind was just not strong enough downwind - so close but a lovely unexpected sail out in the sunshine :) I was joined later by Chris Phillips out on his 145 and 7.5, he might have got going if he had rigged 8.5 !!! Lets hope for more sea breezes this week ! Can anyone help ??? I am looking for beating straps for my raceboard - I got some reinforced rubber from a place in Ipswich but I think they are no longer there :( Also I keep breaking my tube batterns and am looking for some round batern approx. 9/10 mm to repair them. Also my Tushingham Lightning is on it's last legs and am looking for one to replace it Please email if you can help :) |
