Bruce Healey (24088km): Marmong Point, NSW, AU Damned doppler cut speed from 30.2 knots and believe me they were 30 of the biggest, hairiest, ugliest, scariest knots a boy scout never tied. Glad we arrived early to have a go on RS1 & then CASL62 before the racing started. Glad I rigged 5.5 & not 6.6. Glad I tried pointer fin in RS1 which was a first. Glad that the chop was so huge & messy as I love a challenge. Sad that wind died just before the races were to start. I am not saying that I would have humiliated Byron, Remi & Steve W with my blistering speed & silky smooth gybes, I am much too modest so will leave that to someone else. Don't get run over in the rush guys.

Byron Mcilveen (63644km): Marmong Point, NSW, AU maui TR7.7 exocet RS4, v max 39 then maui TR6.6 , exocet RS2 v max 33 and 31 wow got up to 30 knots so to get speeds above 34.5 knots in very large chop felt realy good. good to see Walshy back and Remi come up for an early sail all very quick.. There were so many people there were cars all the way from the club to the end of the fore shore and you can see why with conditions like that. shame it blew all day untill spot on 2pm and died big time.A epic down wind slalom coarse was set thanks Remi and Steve and Geoff for being on the boat. Thanks every one for comming.
sboardcrazy (24442km): 15-24kts S - SSW Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU - 6.4m Naish Bullit + 79ltre falcon + 20cms delta then 90ltre RS2 same combo 1st use of the Niash Bullit since the trip to windsurfnsnow for new batten + cam adjustment- I have a decent profile and it rotates! needs a bit of a whack to get it to go but more powereful than before- amazing what having an unbroken batten at boom height does . Adjustable outhaul wouldn't pull on ?? bugger as I needed it as overpowered at times.Works great with the Severne sails but maybe the applecore fitting on the Naish adds more friction? Bugger Bugger bugger bugger.. All excited about getting a distance PB- 80kms and i get home and it says only 55kms..maybe I didn't reset the trip from yesterday? GPS said 43.75nm trip... grr grr well I feel tired enough to have done 80kms.. zzzzzzzzzzzz Forecast was for 25kts + but i jinxed it by getting the speedboard out ready .. Still fun - acres of flat water + a few good gusts = mega fun! One run I was flying along in glassy water looking behind at the rooster tail wake.. and yodelling.. Did some good gybes too but alphas RS. Getting the rig flip well need to work on getting to speed on the exits. Pretty shallow- if you were off the plane in the shallows you were on the bottom but ok if you had wind and could get weight into the harness. Felt I sailed well today. I'm not often fully powered in a bearaway but one on the falcon I bore off and the board nose started to lift - I know then I've got a good gust and just get into it and get it under control Got pretty gusty ( not consistent enough for a speed board) and dropped off a bit so had lunch then out with the RS2. Cripes after the falcon that things like a hovercraft - just floats over the chop Not as fast though but still fun. Really dissapointed in the distance I went back especially to get extra and thought I'd killed it. Should have known when Nigel hadn't done as much.. Nigel , Bewrowne ( sorry re spelling) Artur ? , George, Milsy , Mick , Michael ,Mat and pm shift Wayne + Alwyn although it was getting dodgy by then. Norah graph said 25-35kts odd but more like a patchy 15-19kts by then..Heaps of corellas in the trees - had lunch under the tree and lots of bums above but luckily they behaved .. They pooped on my sail yesterday..grr Best wind we've had a for a while.
This graph gives a better idea of what we had...up & down wise..
rus13b (5064km): Marmong Point, NSW, AU mistral 91, warp 5.7 28 & 31 sl2 What a windy day, worked till 11.30 & headed round, blowing like crazy. heaps of guys there for the slalom practice. was in out a lot changing fins & rig, more down haul fixed it, got everything pretty gd & the wind stopped not to return, even though there was 25kts at nobbies & norah. wonted to go back & get a 30 but not to b. |
