2905 days ago 1 categories Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU. Falcon113/Tushy6.4/30weedy. arrived to some good wind with 25, Slugger, Noel and John all out. Wind was fairly up and down, but a few good runs. 7m would have been better. Had my knee cleaned out a few days ago, still fairly sore, waterstarting and gybing were interesting

2905 days ago I had a full morning of snotgobbler taxi duties, so by the time I got over yonder, Capt Calm, Hardie and Fin werer just hitting the water. The wind and distance of the run made me think I would err on the side of buoyancy. So in went the Party Barge, Koncept 7.5 and Delta22.
I timed it pretty well and had some nice runs across the estuary before the front arrived.Nice stretches of reasonably flat water. Back in for a few a few adjustments and time for some extended cruising. The wind started to build as the front got closer and things aboard the Party Barge were getting busy and altogether rowdy. I thought I could out-muscle the squall that came with it, but that lasted 30 secs before I got dumped.
I sailed for a bit in the rain but was worried the wind would die after its passage, so I aimed for home. My bearings became muddled in the rain and I ended up too far upwind. Even with a couple of quick downwind legs I still got becalmed a good way from home. Grovel home time is so much easier on a floaty board, so while for the most part I would have preferred a bigger fin and smaller board, the last plod home was a blessing on the Party Barge.
For a quick break from studies, defo aTop Ten Fangy Day

First time trying this spot. Had a lot of fun for a while, then a long walk back. There is some potential for this place, but it has to be right, and it is very shallow for a long way.

2905 days ago 2 categories Tested south yunderup in westerly, works OK but tide has to be at least 0.8m and it's still shallow, hitting the bottom with a 21cm fin.
Still it's a nice long run, some stretches smoother than others.
Another go at testing the new 21cm 55deg fin in the 53 with 6.6 koncept. Trouble was the foam rubber washers on the fin bolts were to soft, when I tightened the bolts it cut through the foam, so for my hour attempt the fin was sucking air down the bolt holes. I had to concentrate on not spinning out. Made me a bit dissapointed in the new fin, until I went in for lunch and discovered the problem.
After lunch the wind had swung sw and dropped disapointingly, but I managed to get a few planing runs that gave the fin the thumbs up.
As expected the wind picked up, the minute oaf had finally made it back to the carpark!

2905 days ago Peel, Yanderup, WA.
Tried a new spot, its ok in westerly winds and high tieds.
Had the old slalom 52, ka kon5.8 and 20cm 60, things may have gone better with a 6.6 but when the wind
kicked in the 5.8 was fine.
