Maybe I’m finally getting some common sense and growing up? Quickly realised the huge swell/chop wasn’t for me today so played it safe in the flat water corner. Hectic ride back to base but nothing broken and never expected to get this sort of speed up here. Good crew from the GPSTC teams up here today well done to all that braved the conditions.

1939 days ago Fangyland was strangely calm-ish and I thought Pesky Remery had stuffed things up by showing up on the plot before the breeze. As it turned out Huey just seemed to be waiting for him to leave, and once Remery was hitting the frog and toad, the breeze filled in nicely.
It was obvious that tubbyguts Basil wasn’t going to show, so Fin jumped in to do some km’s on his fresh nose jobbed Windtech in his absence.
In the meantime I went with the Barge, KaR 7.1 and FF24. Once I was up the top, I thought it would be giggle to have a crack at a U turn on the Barge. At 28 knots and entering the turn, the Barge decided to show its age. After twenty years the front footstrap plug decided to part company with the board. A high speed trip around the handlebars and a sizeable dent in the estuary was the end result.
I limped back to base and moved the footstrap back to the next set of holes. The new position was a revelation. I thought I had the Barge pretty well dialled-in, but I was well happy with the new stance. So much so, I sailed until Jonski o’clock and risked the wrath of a hungry snotgobbler at home.
A fab day in the sun and smooth and despite the prang it was out yet another Top Ten Fangy Day for me.
