Shoalwater, WA, AU   Foil gear, simmer enduro 5.4 and Icon 4.2

The head has been playing me up quite bad the last four days so I didnt realy feel up to a long drive to glory holes or yunbas and heard the bergs at coods were quite bad. I decided to take the sensible option and stay close to home and do some high wind foiling by myself in cross offshore winds.

Started on the 5.4 and got a few good runs before the wind realy kicked. Got out the 4.2 and had 1 amazing run out to the causway and the wind shut down to where it had been. After a slow plod back and a bit of a wait it came back, not realy consistant but enuogh to have some exciting runs on the small sail and keep flying most of the time.

No creature sightings but one awesome day on the water.

Wow, that's exactly what I needed a cruisy, nicely powered, flat water session. The 45kms was easy, hands a tad tingley, but no arm pump, so I think my sailing condition is returning.

I Joined Crimson Flash at Yunders, (more about THAT later), because it was winter westerly and very long runs, decide to play it safe with a floaty board, and because it was forecast to hit 25kts went with the 5.8, and plugged the 20cm @ 55d into the 53cm board. Combo was pretty good, 6.2 on the 48 would have been better most of the time. But when the wind dropped out just after 12 I was very glad of the floaty board.

I lent the Flash my GW60 so he could get some alpha feedback, but we had to hurry because it was only showing 1 bar on the battery indicator, I'm sure I fully charged it last time I used it, but that was a while ago, at least a month.

So we played around doing alphas for a while, standing as a return marker in turns. I thought we could use the yellow 5kt buoys as markers, but found them very hard to see on the return leg. So anyway we finally succeeded, but the weedburgs and bandy wind didn't help very much. We both tried to gybe through weedburgs, ( some of them impossible to see), I found two effects, either slows you down to a crawl so you fall off, or negates all traction so you just slide sideways.

I was very glad I went with the 55deg fin a 45deg would have caused many catapults.

Tried for a NM but the combination of the wind being in bands, alternate flat and slightly choppy wate, with weedburgs scattered at random throughout, resulted in no success.

So Yunders! When Fangy and Crimson Flash talked about Yunders I thought they refered to our normal launch by the the SE corner of the little laggoon.

I expected the Crimson one top be there before me, but when I arrived, -- nobody? So after a very confusing phone call when we both thought we were there but no sign of the other, the Flash convinced me to get in the surf wagoon and drive around the canals to the boat ramp. This was a better idea as the first spot looked too shallow, I would have been dragging the fin for about 100m.

So friends beware, if Fangy says meet me at Yunders, he means the boatramp on the SW end of the canals, as you can see by my tracks below.

JP Slalom 71 & JP weed 36cm, JP Slw & JP weed 42cm, NP RSR E7 7.0m

Nice sail down at Australind with wuite a large crew out, Think I was the slowest out there today.

Wind was a bit up anbd down as is wanters want, started out on the slalom board but the wind faded, dug out my big girl , even she struggled to get going at the start, but once the wind picked up a bit she was lovely even when overpowered she didn't try top bitch slap me although there was a fair amount of clenching going on.

looked like the wind had filled in again so after a bit of onshore procrastination I hooked up the slalom board and walked out and waited for enough wind to get going.

Got a few nice-ish runs on that but my shoulder was starting to give me some noticable gyp, so decided to flag it.

Lotta fun, I think everyone had a go at overtaking me so I was glad to be of help.

Be glad for this shoulder to sort itself out, not being able to pump makes things hard and flairing it up water starting is no fun either.

Good times

Coodanup, WA, AU in the doghouse now so will write post later (: TRX 7.0, Pat 110/Fangy 24 then Missile 49/VWS23@50 3rd day out in a row and the best session by far. Out on my own with just the weedbergs for company (and the seagulls standing/laughing on them) as I was on a bit of a time limit couldn’t make the trip to Australind. The NM is a real tribute to the Fangy Fin as I battled past weedbergs and was lit threw some large chop and it didn’t let go at all. I changed to the speed board just in time for the gust of the day and remembered I had promised to pick up the click and collect groceries when I read my messages at 4:43. Just made it for the groceries but I may have also mentioned I would be back in a couple of hours.

Fair go Decrepit, I haven't sailed out the bog at Yunderup since early spring 2018! I am a little bit hurt that all the pretty crayon pictures I have done from the boat ramp and you have not paid them any attention...Tongue out

Good to see you fellas got out and well done for avoiding the hazards...except for Jonski.Laughing

Must be a while since I sailed there then, the bog is certainly the last place I launched from.

And I apologize for not paying proper attention to your art work.
