Well!!! Got to Pt W at dawn with not much wind. Rigged the 6.6 in a big squall with heavy rain (almost thought it was hail). Went out and got a few moderate gusts with a 31 on the dial. Then dropped.

Slowie, Claude,Dan and Yoyo arrived had a chat and then went out a couple of times for a slog but very westerly and even a bit WNW.

Then Blam! Seabreeze shows 36-42knts and I had a 6.6Cry

Dan was master of the point and Slowie not looking quite his usual cruisy self but going hard. both over 40 I think.

Had a couple of runs in the lulls with a final attempt ending in probably the biggest crash I have ever had. I got my backside handed to me by Huey big time. Broke rod batten at top of sail and GPS no longer works. So that was the end of that.

Shame as it had the potential to be a PB session if only for 10sec ave.

Lucky Bay. Tried out the new Lorch Division S 83... WWAAAYYY too choppy and WWAAAYY too overpowered on 5.8... By the looks, I should have driven the extra few km to Pt WallyCool I'm a wallyCry

Rigged up 6.6 Loft02 looked,to be a good session, then just as I headed off on first run Blam, got smashed by the front that came throughSurprisedFrown  at 10am, got absolutely pummeled Cry for the next 50 odd  minutes. got back, parked up, and it dropped out altogether, enough for a few needing to walk back as it swung SSE in Lucky Bay.

The hammering I got sort of convinced me it would be better fun watching the WAFL footy home in front of a fire and a stiff scotch and dryWink

Went to Hardies run. Got there around 8am where loads of people were waiting for it to come in. Chris arrived. Rigged my smallest sail 5.8... then the wind came in but it was stupidly windy... decided to de-rig and wait a couple of hours before sailing again.

At around 11.30 after it had settled down I gave it a go. My brand new weed fin was way too big and  it copped a flogging by weed, rocks and whatever else lurks in that slimey mess. Got a bit frustrated as I was determined to hit 30 today.... Yell

Although it was a great day hanging out with Chris and co. (cheers!!!!) Smile

Crazy day down with the crabs and snot weed.

Met Marcel at 8am when it was fairly marginal westerly. The front hit at about 9am and things got pretty crazy. Saw that all the experts were struggling to keep it together, so I dropped my rig and retreated indoors for a couple of hours.

Headed back down in more sane conditions and had some fun runs. Almost came a cropper on some nasty weed patches a few times which shook me up a bit. Was forced to sail out in the deep stuff since the FO weedster wasn't raked enough. So sad to miss out on all that flat water! I'll head back for another assault on that place once all the snot clears.

Had a crack at Nm which was exciting! It's great to get such a small improvement in PB as it will be all the easier to crack next time.

I've decided to put on some weight...

My first contribution to the team was a short one. Over the handlebars at 25kn and the boom went bang Cry. On the bright side managed to get the CFO to green light a new boom! Laughing

Mineral, that post was from me!? Maybe you forgot to hit the post button? Or you are psychic and read my mind??!

I feel like I fought the wind and the wind won. No permanent damage but had to have a nana nap this afternoonEmbarassed. The GPS is dead though. Press the on button and the screen backlight and little light flash and then nothing.

Mineral do you know? Is the warranty 12 months? Just under a year old. Is it return to shop or return direct?

The force is strong between Lao Shi and Mineral... you guys aren't long lost twins or something are you?  I can't see any way that a post could be logged as someone else unless you're both using the same computer.

Well done on getting out today guys, it looked ballistic!  The lack of a car and getting home at 6:30 am made me chicken out and have a sleep instead Embarassed

Mark, the local shops won't help with warranty claims on the GT-11's...you have to go direct to Locosys (all the stuff you need is on their website...http://www.locosystech.com/index.php).

They're pretty good in my experience...I had one of my GT-11's kark it on me (lost the display) and they fixed it up no drama.  Warranty is 12 months.

Mark, yep maybe I did forget to hit the "post" button.Embarassed

As for warranty, the responsibility of a business here in WA means that when you have exchanged money for goods, the seller then takes full responsibility for warranty. So in essence the shop should replace it. But its a real pain getting them to accept this role, Just as Tony, his failed first day and they put him through the ringer over it. As Pointman indicates the manufacture are great with warranty support. My first one did what yours is doing, I got it from Simon Fyfe, Boardscrazy, he just replaced it and sorted warranty out himself. They still record, just no display when they screen goes.Cry

Well done, Chris on the nautical.Sorry we didn't get to back you up.

I think we have given it a bloody good try this month. I can't believe how competitive the challenge has got. Everybody keeps getting better.

Take the rest of the month off everybody.Wink
