Nice little late summer sesh at Melville Beach with breeze around 20 and the odd 25ish knot puff. Koncept 6.6 with Manta 59, then Manta 49.

Went for the hour and got there! Pipped Sam D by the smallest possible margin - perhaps Claude will make it all academic as he was going for hours too I think.

Nice little sail on what is sadly probably the last day of daylight saving in WA for some years - until a Government has the balls to say 'its here to stay'.

6.6 Koncept 09, 64 Tabou Manta 09, 36 goldwing.

Stringer (7685km):

he's going for distance, not going for speed.

Got to PP about 6:30pm and sailed for half an hour in about 15-18 knots.  Manta 67, Goldwing 32 and Koncept 6.6.  First time out on the Manta and it was fun - this was the board that was the prize in the raffle last year.   Gotta get a bigger fin though.

a last burst of summer?

great cruisy day at hardies with lots of crew.

went early on the iso105,cred6.7 and brushcutter 34 with a new camera mount to try....mount was a  failure but i managed some footage which i will try and post later.

totally awesome effort  by pedro to nail the big hr!! he had mentioned several times over the last couple of weeks about going for a big 1..and true to form he delivered a 'captains knock' nation topping result!!! well done mate!

well done also to Claude for nailing a pb nautical mile!

also to stringer for a new distance pb

well done crew!

my sail was pretty ordinary at 1 point got a bit bored with it almost leaving early, but kept going. changed down to the ca sp50,kon5.8,venom 30

which never felt right, and i suspect was picking up clumps of snot weed at times..prob should of used the standard weedy.

wind was picking up as i left but had family commitments.

Went for an early session at Peli. Got there at 130 with a very light SW, so rigged 9.0 and IS 125. Hit the water in almost non existant sea breeze, but it soon picked up quite nicely and built to a steady 18 knots by 3 when i left. It was in the end a really nice little session on that combo once the wind did pick up and it was fun racing around with Stringer who was on smaller kit. Speeds were never going to be great given light wind. WOuld have been fun to change down to the IS 87 and a 6.5m. Could have kept going but had to set up for my 40th !.

Nice numbers team !  Great results.

well done nebbs and pete, i love that long scale bass neck in that clip.. cant help signng songs when im on the water and that one seemed apprpriate.. lucky no one could hear me.. i really suck at signing...oh . and happy 40th birthday JC!

shame i spent a good portion of the morning swimming in between the boats and the jet-ski trainee tea baggers otherwise i could have gone a bit further. how inconsiderate, but what can you expect from someone who combines the two most publicly obnoxious activites known to man.

That is all 61.3 km of it Stringer. Longest leg is about 8.5km [leg burner], last leg in the hour abt 1km. You can see where I stopped on the north side of the channel down by the island to catch my breath at about 61 minutes!

Hey Snides,

Just put the URL into the box marked "File/URL".  Once you click outside that box the editor will go off and get a preview of the media like this:

When you click "insert" it will just show up as a yellow box, this is OK, it will be right when you press "Post".

PD big effort there 8.5km runs would hurt, guess your going to tell us that if you kept all the runs around 8ks it would be a much better result with fewer gybes?Yell Top effort your the 1 hour king now!!

Snides nice camera angle change on the go thereSmile

ha! yeah cheers spotty..that was the mount failure..some of the clips slowly went from looking up to spinning around 180 deg through the water...bit like looking out of a submarine window on diving (i guess)....back to the drawing boardUndecided
