5643 days ago Not a cloud in the sky, beautiful warm clear water, mackerel chasing bait and heaps of stingrays at Kurrimine today. Sailed with Lyn and Herb who had good sessions. Wind 10 - 15 kts so got a few k's up. Naish 120l, Ezzy 7.0 Infinity 36SL.
Phil, good to see you got out as well. Wait to see what the captn and Cam did at GI today.

5643 days ago Winter Trades arrived today .Narrow window of opportunity on Eastern Run before it became treacherously shallow.
Started with the CA 50-the demo board for Speed Week -Great Board !! with a 7.2rss & 30cm venom & ended up on the Ca 47 with 24cm Maui ultra fin & 7.2rss.Latter combo was marginally faster .
THe tower was showing 30 knots but less on the water - was 20-24 early then picked up to 26-27 knots -ran out of water just as the wind got to a nice strength .
Took a cm off the Maui ultra on the 2nd last run -trying to get too close to the reef edge -AHHHRRrrrr-Bob did unspeakable things to his rig but I'll let him describe his day ...
Overall good fun .Not enough sailing time in the lead up to today so arms seriously wasted ...
Another GPS unit bit the dust today -God this is an expensive Sport !!!

5643 days ago 2 categories Bitter sweet day at Green Island Got a PB but damaged my board
We had a typical great Green Island day, beautiful warm day and wind. I had a plan but ended with a brain fade, was going to chase speed in the morning then go for the other divisions in the arvo. I was constantly a couple of knots behind Cam at around 33 most of the morning, I then gave the Blade some more downhaul and straight away a low 35, next run a high 35, then my 36. This is where I had my old fella brain fade, I'm thinking goodie every run I'm going faster so I'll get my 5x10 up, wrong The very next run I hit the reef shoving the fin base through the back of the fin box Yep I knew it was wrong to go where I did but the GTC ladder had me by the nuts One minute I'm pumping my fist in the air, the next I'm laying in the fetal position on the beach sobbing

5641 days ago Kurrimine Beach with Herby and Rossco....HoppyBob still on camera duty, but won't be too long and he will be on water again.
Bit underpowered with 5.9 and 105l Screamer...but great fun and no complaints.
Congrats Firie...very great effort, but sometimes you do take the cake.
