25 (14457km): Melville westerly, a good crowd out. Less wind and chop than yesterday and a reasonably pleasant sail for winter. 6.6 Koncept 09, F2 SXS 08, 32 Falcon.
Chris Adamson (14466km): What a great weekend!!!!!! Windy all day Saturday and all day Sunday. Another classic winter sail at Melville with plenty of punters out. 20 knots or so most of the time with some stronger puffs. Had a great time on the Manta 49, Koncept 5.8 and KA 23cm sym - my favourite combo. Nice to peel off a couple of 30 knot NMs - they didn't feel that quick so there is room for improvement there.
Snides (28038km): little less than yesterday so 5.8kon,ca sp 50 venom 30 preety good conditions for dysons with not too many holes, lots of chop tho. have been struggling with this combo for a couple of weeks now wondering why it feels so uncomfortable tried lots of different settings...mast forward, mast back, boom up boom down, wax on wax off... then it sort of dawned on me its not the combo but more a lack of fitness, the shins seem to be copping it the most.
JC (5181km): Went to Melville and rigged the 6.5 hoping it wouldn't really kick in, but it did as soon as I hit the water and was overpowered so decided to err on the side of caution and change down to a 5.6. Typically the wind backed off and I was cussing as the 5.6 was too little for the lulls but just ok in the gusts. was lucky that a few decent bullets came through which ultimately ended up providing a good set of numbers, otherwise it was a bit frustrating. The 6.5 would have been the better choice for the lulls but it would have been a handful in the bigger gusts. Can't wait for the new 5.9CR. A patchy old day and packed up as it started to power in nicely and more crew hit the water. CR 6.5 then 5.6, IS 86 and Vector 30.
Craig Mann (896km): Nice to be on the water again. Manta 59 5.8 ka and 30 Falcon |
