A nice westerly pounded Napier today with some good sustained 30 knots, gusting to 40 knots.  Pity we don't have any flat places to sail in westerlies.  It's good for general blasting around though, so there were a few of us out there enjoying the sunshine and wind.

Island Bay ~W ->19?; variable wind chop, LW-0.5 to +2; 85L sinker, Venom 320 then CA SL58, Venom 340, mb 1335 (-2); Redline 6m4 - should have stuck to plan, start on the SL58 and rig 7m0 ... Chris and a few others were out too, not so bad.

500m = 35.06 knots

Board ~ 50cm/ 65 L wave/ slalom

Sail ~ 5.7 KA Koncept

Fin ~ 24cm Alloy CNC Milled

Fitness ~ Weak with the Flu

Wind ~ 15 - 20 knot SW

Late afternoon/ early evening sail with the boys.

Another day of light winds, forecast wind didn't kick in.

To increase my speed in these light marginal winds, need to use bigger Sails!

Naish SP105, C3 34, 5.8RS4 15 -25 NW to WSW. Choppy.

Rigged  for what was blowing on arrival but it dropped somewhat when we hit the water. The wind was swinging a bit which spiked the chop. the wind finally swung SW and went a steady 20 just as I was leaving at 7pm.

Four of the team sailed today - well done all.
