Regarding the conditions and as the saying goes - "Mad dogs and Englishmen"

Welcome to the GPSTC guys.  Hopefully one day you'll get to tour down under (minus the balmy army) and sail in paradise.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Pete and Paul did really well considering the temps were only at 5degc +/- 1. There was no sun so I expect it was pretty grim.

We are in the longest prolonged cold spell for 30yrs. Its much colder over the near continent, temps in Germany have been at minus 15degC thru the day!

All down to a massive feed of ne-e winds wrapping around a very cold high over Russia. Atlantic mild air and warmer winds are trying to push in over the west of Europe, but at present this "milder" air keeps being forced back by new highs forming over the cold continent.

Feb hopefully will see the transistion to milder air for the UK / Eire and NW Europe - a slow old process though.

@Nebs / Hardie.  Min speed setting for the Navi. I assume something around 5knots. Otherwise when sailing in broad conditions like WK or the PiT, the mandatory walk back up wind will be logged as distance travelled, which in theory could equate to 30-40% of the session if it is very broad. What do you think?

Oh missed the point totally well done warriors looks like you got Jan in the bag. :-) for the U.K.

Swags mate - you did n't tell me 4 hrs plastering was the equivalent to 10hrs hardcore speedsailing - totally wasted.

Hi WKC  thanks for the welcome. I hope you warm up soon over in Croatia - minus 15 is extreme

Yeah mate Tuesday has potential down south.

One hell of huge storm brewing towards the end of next week mid atlantic, looks like this one will have enough umph to force the old scandi high away, ushering in the mild flow from the SW for next weekend.  Lets hope it pushes the mild flow over europe, hotting up the comp this side of the globe.

Lol, thats why i get a mate to do it hehe......

Need the wind mate been that long its gonna be a bit weird going back out, that storm is a big un but needs to track a bit more east than predicted but lets wait and see.

At least i have come on leaps and bounds with my house moving in on the 13th Feb.
