5515 days ago 1 categories Iffy forecast so a bit late leaving home, nearly pulled the plug, but couldn't raise Craig on his mobile at 4am so didn't want to stand him up and headed off. Got to the Pit at about 6.45am - full tide so couldn't drive in. Lugged two boards and rigs from the carpark through to the inlet. Finally got on the water at about nearly 9am after waiting a bit when I saw that Craig wasn't planing. Wind came back in but was up and down all day. Lots of south in it - probably SSW and only a bit over 20knots at best. Didn't even get the speed board out of the bag and surprised to even get a 30knot peak as I spent the day practicing gybes and stuffing up 1 hour attempts. I had three go's at 1 hrs but each time I either came off the plane for too long during lulls in the wind or dropped a gybe or two
Still, great to blast about on a lovely late summer day - sure beats my day job! A few out by afternoon including three of the Connewarre Crew to chase up and down the inlet.
Most of the day on 96L JP Super X with 09 KA Koncept 5.8. Did a couple of runs with my Naish Icon 130L and 7m NP V8, but the sail felt very unbalanced today.
