Tom Chalko (688km):
5337 days ago I followed kato all morning and I learned how to sail a bit faster. No crashes, no injuries and no equipment damage.
Koncept 4.4, Carbonart SP40, KA 20cm assy fin. My very first run at 10am was scary. I begun on Koncept 5.0 and tailwalked 500m along the speed course at 36 knots. Please let me pay a trubute to KA 20cm assy for letting me control the circus show. After the first run I changed to 4.4 and it felt much better.

5337 days ago Got there too late after work and missed the good wind. First run was the best and downhill from there until I decided to try a couple of alphas. Only did 3 and two were over 26. Perhaps I should have stuck at it but Craig talked me into going for a 1 hour so I didn't want to get tired out.
I dropped two gybes out of 45 in the 1 hour but it included a 27 knot NM and a 24.8 alpha so not too bad. I recon I had at least a 35 knot 5 x 10 just in the 1 hour with a peak speed of 37.65 in one squall where I was hanging on all the way to the sand dune because it was too fast and hairy to gybe.
IS 86 with Lessacher 28 LE Wo Duo Speed weed, 5m Koncept.
Speed runs with CA40 and KA20 assy.
Looks like quite a few PBs had happened early so well done to all!

5337 days ago 2 categories This is the first full session I have done on the JP sp45 and what stood out was how hard it accelerates!
This board is definitely starting to give me a warm fuzzy feeling on the inside

5337 days ago No gas left in the tank after a hard day yesterday. Hoping for more in what was a lot smoother water. Probably not quite as windy as yesterday. Great to catch up with so many speedies at the PiT over the two days including the inter-staters today. Big congrats to all those who got new PBs today!

5337 days ago Not a lot of work happened in Victoria today and WA and SA suffered slightly. What happened our boarder control?
A classic Pit day, Lots of good wind, sunshine and our special brand of corduroy? What more could you want. Tom was first on the water and was well rewarded with some Pb, s with me ½ hr latter. High tide and a bit bumpy but great wind. Tried the Ka/Lockwood 20 again as the last time I used it in 60kts it spat me off and I didn’t have a good experience with it. A very different fin compared to the Time Machine fins, had to load it much more slowly until it was fully powered and when it was…….wow ,no problems at all on the runs and tried some of Slowly advice to good effect. Thanks Mate.
About 20 sailors in all today all having a great time, even saw a smile on Hammers face. Daffy rocked up late and the wind had gone more south so” what about a 1hr Daffy” (I hoped he was too stuffed) Ran the one hr on the CA50 (Must buy one) with the Ka5.8 on the TM26 in a strengthening wind. Must remember to do 1 hr at the start on a session not the last hr before dark. Well and truly stuffed now. Speeds with CA40, Lock/Ka 20,Ka 5.0. 1hr CA50,TM26,Ka5.8

5337 days ago Well done guy's on the impressive numbers. Tom, we are going to have to drug test you, I think maybe an overdose of Peters MuffinsWell done.
I feel like I let the side down with a mediocre performance, not sure what was wrong. Tried a new mast in the 5.0 Koncept and it was too stiff, just didn't feel good. Then when I changed to the 5.4 Race I should have gone for the 5.8, was underdone although the sail felt superb.
A bit embarressment when I give my gear to Ado for a run and he comes back with a faster time than me!!!
A really enjoyable day though.

5337 days ago Reeeeeeally big congratulations to Tom, Craig and Peter this weekend (Monday's the weekend if windy!). Excellent performances.
OK session for me in terms of speed but what perfect conditions. Just doesn't get any better. Got on the water at 12:30 so I missed the best wind and never really got fired up properly on the 5.0. 5.8 would be more the thing but I find I don't go much above 41-42 unless it's 30knots plus. 35knots seems to be when I get my mojo! Wind was a little gusty so best speeds were achieved in big bear-offs from the sand bank in gusts. Fastest conditions since Big Sunday!
Corduroy!
