Home from Tarifa late last night - then sailed at Brafield today - loads of trouble indoors!-- keen to sail as Steve S is in windy france and wanted to make sure theres 2 sailers on the water. But crap day - in horrible Gusty north wind and steep chop - no speed atall - but nice to see the lads

Used Axis 92 Ltr and simmer race 6.3

Only able to sail couple of hours in the morning when wind was very up and down.  Initially on 9.2/135l and well overpowered past the windline so came back in and changed down to 6.7/89l.  Screamed out and then the wind promptly dropped so slogged back in and went back out on big kit  for a steady 50mins.

After spending a good but windy night parked in a lay,by on the way out of La Franqui right by the water we moved back to our spot in the town square for breakfast :)
With the winds gusting to 35 mph and building I decided to get out quickly and rigged the 5.2 with the speed board !!! The main problem here is the best flat water is a 2/3 mile beat up the coast in a horrible short chop getting farther off the beach all the time !!!
I walked the first part and then made it a mile or so upwind and decided to stay here. You had to start off in the chop slowly sailing toward the beach to settle in the straps hoping not to spin out and then bear off right along the beach at the last minute and hope you did,nt hit any sandbanks !!! I had a couple of good runs of 35 and my best ever of 37 :) but was getting knackered and decided to return to the van while I still had some skin on my legs with the sandblasting me in winds gusting over 50 mph !!!!
Sat in the van and watched the many freeriders out on 4m many getting flattened but some lopping well :)
The wind is supposed to be even stronger tomorrow !!! so might try somewhere else ,perhaps Gruissan.
