First sail after breaking my wrist; First sail for winter 2010, First sail with the new speed team Bonno Blasters and at Bonbeach, First sail as WV president.

I enjoyed getting out on a northerly wiht the crew. I had only just over an hour as I'm still waiting for my new gear to rarive, but the 5.7m Firefly worked well with the 106 Flare.

Bonus sail today at Bonno, didnt think it would happen. Arrived at Bonno to find most of the crew there and Jak already on the water with his big gear. Like a typical northerly the wind was coming in patches that made gear selection a bit of guess work but the blue sky and warm air temp made up for the flukey wind.  Thought I had a bit more speed on the dial but I hadnt reset speeds from my last sail. Most of the time was spent on the Super Sport with a brief blast on the Tabou 3s when the wind looked like it was going to kick in only to fall away when we started to get excited.

Great to post the first session for the Bonno Blasters and ...at Bonno! Went out first with the big gear as guinea pig and got about an hour solid planning runs in about 17 kts. In the meantime most of the team arrived and one by one joined in. Although little patchy once on the plane it went for ever, which helped with a reasonable NM. Wind eased then picked up again with more chop when I changed boards and squeezed a little more speed out for the day. Perfect weather and good to be with the team. Good to see Stephen recovered from his wrist injury and mastering his first winter sail for this season.
