Lots of people at the Pit today and why not, the sun was shining, the birds were grounded and the wind was mostly howling, sometimes not a lot and sometimes crap its windy !!!!! Didn,t have a good start, broke the bolt that holds the spring to the trailer in one of our world famous pot holes. Luckly the trailer behaved its self and didn,t roll over and crash. Jambed a screw driver into the spring, a bit of gaffa tape and string, all fixed. Tide was in so off to Daffys to catch up with Slowy and the crew. Started to rig the 5 and broke the main batten. Crap migh be a bit too much for the 5.8, Daffy to the rescue with a spare Ka 4.9 and in green to match the board. Wink

First run down 43.2 peak with the harness lines all over the place, boom wrong height, mast track wrong. Must have hit a black cat some where, but a 43 first run. Its going to be a good day Tongue out Chased squalls all day and lucked into a few with Slowly and Sam and spiked a 45. Only a few knots slower than them Yell Finished the day stuffed, happy and with a beer supplied by Sam. We must let him in more often. Hard work to get into position for the gusts, but great fun. Happy Happy Happy Kato Laughing CA 40, Ka/Loc 21 Assy,Ka 4.9 Koncept

PB's for all the speeds. First run was the best. Just felt easy really. I was pleasantly surprised at the PB peak speed of 47.16kts and 10 sec PB of 45.364. Laughing 46.435 100m, 45.246 250m, and 44.398 500m!

I tried for a long time to back it up but was out of phase with the squalls for quite a while. I finally nailed another 44.6 10 sec and three 43's but it was a real struggle. Sooo close to the 44 ave, yet so far...... Undecided

Best tow runs with 2009 5m but then went to 4.4m. CA40, KA 20 assy.

Great to see all the Whoops, Yeeharr'ing and air punching as so many guys got PB's. Smile

5.8 2010 Koncept, Ka23Asym, SP44, my second fastest session of all time, 45.44 500m,  2 crashes in a row in some deep rolling chop at the end of the run @ 45 had me skiming like a stone head first on my back, all ok. Good to see all get some PB action well done all.

Holy shit guys!! Well done! Sounds like an awesome day and I'm so bummed I couldn't make it. Even worse I had to take a trip to Queenscliff today so got to spend most of the day watching the trees buffeting around, and even got a glimpse of a very flat and windy Swan Bay - sheer torment!!

WOW I knew it would be good BUT NOT THAT GOOD! Big congratulations lads. I know how long Shelby's been trying to crack the 45 peak and you smashed it! Really wish I was there, because it looks like I could have nudged my 5 x 10 well into the 43-44 range. Oh well, Speedfortnight is just around the corner! Yeehaaar!

Great stuff Andrew!! Congratulations on the new PBs. I am curious about why there were so many PBs when comments were that it was quite broad and a bit bumpy - was it just the sheer wind strength? I don't recall us having wind at the PiT up to 40knots for a while.

Fantastic Andrew!! So close to 44 Ave. Spotty got some great times as well but is having data f@#$%^k. Hope he sorts it.

Peter, You can go really fast in the broad stuff. My fastest time was when it was really square, it just gets really dodgy at the bottom end in the waves..

awesome effort guys. I am truly stoked to see you all going faster. Each visit you seem to be upping the game. Next time can you please arrange for the wind to have a little more south in it though. I'm finding that westerly stuff a little bit bothersome at the end of the run.

NOICE SPOTTY, the problem with doing a 50kt peak and 47.5kt 5 x 10, EXPECATIONS!!!!!!!!  45 5 x10 is excptional!!

Spotty

VIC
Australia
5176 days ago

The other problem Hardie is 50knot days like that don't come very often, 45 5x10 / 500m is a good day considering the conditions, I think the sails are allowing us to go faster in less.
