LOCATION: AREA 45

TIDE:  OUTGOING- INCOMING

GEAR:  JP SUPER SPORT 135, 38cm Mean FIN, KA KOYOTE THEN CHANGE UP BPARD TO SUPER EXCITE 160, 42 CM G10 FIN THEN CHANGE DOWN TO SUPER SPORT !#^, 42 CM G10 FIN, KA KOYOTE 5.9

SAILORS: MOONDO

DETAILS:  Nice strong Easterly airflow meant that Area 45 was on the cards.  Got there on an outgoing tide and it was extermely lumpy.  The winds was solid 10-15 but looked like it would come in so I rigged small and took the S/Sport out.  The first few runs were awful...the board was too slippery and the tide was really throwing it around.  Came back in and went for the bigger board/ fin combo.  Felt heaps better and got a few long planing runs in.  The wind picked up a bit more so I came back in and swapped down again..this time putting a larger fin in the mix (42 cm g10)..Finally, I got the combo I was looking for.

Area 45 didn't really want to play tho'...the tide started to go out but strange little wavelets formed on the section that is normally flat.  These stayed right throughout the day so there really wasnt any flat water to be had.  I suspect we may have had a higher low tide than normal...it certainly looked like it was going to come good...it only needed a few more centimetres to expose the bank

Moondo found a mermaid and thought his life was complete.  Turned out to be a 6 foot log!
