Pinnaroo Point, Bombora 135L, 6.8m

I chickened out and rigged 6.8 instead of 8. It was too small, so I went out.
Dismantled 6.8, rigged 8m, broke the boom head, bitched for about 3 minutes and re-rigged 6.8. Lucky, as the wind picked up and 6.8m was just right. Embarassed

So it worked for a while, then the fin started slipping every 100m. I was abotu to spit on the Bombora, when I noticed the boom slipped down the mast by 20cm, pushed it back up, and the slipping was reduced drasticaly(not eliminated though) ..go figure...Undecided

It would cavitate down every wave, or just after cresting a larger wave. The sail mast cutout is too low on this sail anyway.
What's the relationship between the mast height and the fin slippage?

Point Walter, WA, AU Sonic 85, 5.7Koncept, 32 Vector

My first session at Point Walter. It was gusty and I sailed conservatively as I did not want to end up in Claremont (A long walk home from there!) so no amazing speeds, BUT I did complete my first EVER gybe on this board. WHOO HOO! It felt so good to turn, flip the rig, and just keep going! ... and it felt so easy I don't know why it has been so long in coming. The first of many I hope.

Top 5 scores in 4 categories today, so I guess it was a pretty good session overall!

Melville Beach, WA, AU

Futura 111 + 7.0 TR5 + 36 Goldwing.

Fun sesh in a gusty sou'wester.

Pretty choppy due to the high tide.

Enjoyed chasing Norts across the river...highlight was blasting along a couple of metres upwind.  Scored a 33 peak and I wasn't even going broad.

Good to get my mojo back after feeling a bit pathetic for pulling out of the LOC . EmbarassedSmileCool

Pelican Point, WA, 15-25kts, Sonic 90, Koncept 6.6, Goldwing32

Nice arvo sail. a little more west than a normal seabreeze and a little more gusty but good fun. Saw Marcel from a distance but didn't get a chance to hook up. Chased Trotty Trousers a few times but he was flogging meFrown

Little sesh at safety bay to get the mojo back as pointy says. Highest tide I have ever seen in the bay, the jetty was about 5cm from being underwater!!! made it a little choppy but fun none the less !

Was going to go to Sbay but changed my mind. Wrong call!

Got to Wally world to see Troppo rigging and putting a nude 54 on so decided to go the nonose. Wrong call 2!

Slowy arrived and the wind got even worse!Cry

Changed to the sonic and kept going till late. Wrong call 3! Wind never came in properly.

Gusts of 20+ about 10m wide then 2 knots.

Warp 6.3, sonic 100, goldwing 32.

Mr Boat was an illustration of how it is done hitting nearly 38 on a 68 wide slalom board!Surprised

Good to see a great team turn out.

Well done, Windxtasy on the corner. More to come!Cool

Higher boom more depth in the sail.

Fin slippage- lots of seabreeze posts on fins and spin out.

Anita - great you got out- the alphas coming up nice work! ( and a 24 is a good day in my book!
