Starboard S-Type 126, Loft Switchblade 8.5, 40cm Curtis fin

Carbon Art SL58, Loft Switchblade 6.8, 35cm Select S05

Great light wind blast early on with Dave and Troy, then on to the smaller gear and chased Rexy down the runway. Quite underpowered on the runway, but loved the reaches out and back!!

Late arvo cruise, time limited. Forecast promised but not much really.

Just got out at right time as we have 18 teenagers over for backyard sleepover, putting up tents and cooking BBQ etc.

Wind was prob 13-15 knots but actually consistent for a change.

Falcon 121, RSR 7.8, 40 weedy.

Got out early with Mike and Troy for a nice full day of sailing rigged up and at that point realised I left my Harness at homeCry.

Big thanks to Troy for lending me his harness so I could get some time on the water, a lot of slogging but also a few planning runsSmile - Thanks again Troy. Also Thanks to Murray for offering a use of a seat harness. Gotta Love the Windsurfing Brotherhood.Cool

F2 SX Med, 36cm JP Slalom III fin, NP RSS 6.7m.

Nice afternoon out with the boys and had a couple of fun races to the runway and back with Sean and his old man.  No amazing PBs or anything but good, consistent wind and consistent sailing.

Had a go on Seano's new JP Slalom Racing VI 101 too.  Really nice board to ride.  Was consistently 2-3 knots faster than mine I think.  Made him a generous offer but he wouldn't part with it... Tongue out

How did the rescue go Mike.

Dave: He ended up getting a lift back in on the back of a jetski.

Larko: (back story to the above) When I went out on the small gear, I sailed past a guy in the water and I yelled out to see if he was OK. He shook his head, so I gybed and went back to see what was wrong. The rope that clamps the boom head to the mast had snapped, so I said I'd sail back in and bring out a replacement rope. By the time I got back out, he was sitting on the back of a jetski and getting a tow into shore. His sail was out of the water at this stage and had a huge KA43 printed on it.

Gday Mike,

See what happens when you use one of my old sails, makes the owner go all gumby and things breakEmbarassed

Good on you though for checking if he was OK, as Dave said, the windsurfing brotherhood is strong.

BTW, what type of sail was it??

Cheers,

Larko

I didn't get a good look at it, but it was monofilm, with red all around the edges and black KA43 sail numbers. Maybe around a 6.5m?

7.5? That might be why he had gear failure...
