DanP (6466km): Inverloch, VIC, AU Another fun session today at the inlet. Absolutely stoked with that Alpha, it makes a difference having Kato snapping at your heals on the way through the turns. Used my 98ltr Sonic freeride and 6.6 Koyote and... almost coloured in the inlet!!
madventure (1394km): Inverloch, VIC, AU Today was MAD. Sailed my 127 L supersport, 42cm fin, 7.2 Koyote. The fin kept trying to throw me off the board at high speed, the sail kept getting back winded in the gusts so my arms are rooted, and the car got stuck when we were leaving on the grass bump.. the trailer bottomed out so we had to jack it up a bit.
Old Salty (5119km): Inverloch, VIC, AU Xcite 120 Koncept 6.6 Cs Venom 36 Wind W - SW 12,15,20kts varied all day but if you where patient you could get onto some real bullets. Great to get back on the water after the accident. Feel very sore but a good day was had. Great to share the day with Mike, Dan, Richie, Ash, Kato(thanks for tuning my set up) , Rob, Peter, George and Megs(great to see the "Fat" lady) and lots of others on the water. Great to see Mick enjoying his new board. Richie and I went exploring to the "OTHER SIDE" of the Inlet. Nice long runs just able to stay on the plan as moved into the wind shadow but water was flat as and crystal clear. Great to see Dan smokin on the water
Drift (6257km): LOCATION: ANGLING CLUB WIND: WSW - 12-18 KNOTS TIDE: LOW- HIGH- LOW GEAR: CA FR 77, c3 venom 40 cm, KA Koyote up to 8.2 DETAILS: Carbon copy of yesterday. Winds from the same direction at similar strenght alhough there were a few squall that came through with the rain bands. Got the Carbon Art wound up a few times today and it feels great!. Had some nice runs with the Busters, as well as some not so nice moments with some kiters. I had one launch into an air just in front of me at the bottom of the run...he didn't look behind before he took off and I was only a few metres behind him. I reckon it was pretty close as I could see him through the top panel of my sail. I gave him a few choice words, and later on when I was talking to Richie, he said he'd seen it all. I told him I slowed down to try to avoid a crash but Richie relied "no, no, you didn't slow down one bit!". Also had a few good drag races with the kites on the strip and surprisingly, I was able to pull away from them. Had a great moment where I passed a kiter who had cut Kato off earlier in the day, and as I went past him, I dropped the back hand into the water as if to go "this is so easy"...I then realised I was running out of water as the bank was looming up, so I had to cut in front of the kite. He might have said a few unkind words....it's funny when the shoe is on the other foot!!
CHUNNY (247km): 6.6 Koncept Starboard 101 Even though there was a heap of wind I was underpowered. Was told at the end of the session that I had way too much downhaul. By the speeds shown on both days, not my best weekend.
I hope I can get a couple more sails in before the baby arrives. |
