Top work Kato!,  and Shelby what were you thinking putting up a bigger sail than meSurprised

A good day, wind direction was fairly consistent with all 5 10sec runs starting within ~50-60m of one another.    Sand was smoking fairly hard off the dunes, so went the fresh out of the bag '11 Koncept 5.0, Ka21.5, sp44, sail had heaps of grunt and shape down low,, felt sweet!!

1st run peaked at 44 and milked it about 150m past red bouy, was a lot of south in it and plenty of strength so on with the weight jacket.  Water was super flat at times especially top half of run where it was tight, would of been sweeter with more west.   Cloud remained high thru out session with sun now and again, no squalls to be had all day though with temp around 11'C.

Hooked a couple of strong gusts to get a 44.2 500m on the 3rd run, my 4th fastest 5x10 session of all time so yeah a pretty good session.Cool

Super windy day and very consistent. Very constant but a little too south to be ideal. Every now and then there would be a gust with a slight swing back to the west and if you hooked into one of those it really helped.

I went with the 4.0m Koncept just to try it out really but actually felt overpowered and out of control. Very strange. Stopped and added downhaul and this helped but now sail too flat. Still too backhandy. AMac was completely correct as usual in his insistence that the sail would not work on this Powerex RDM. I guess I just had to prove it to myself and I most certainly have done that. Looks like I will have to cut down one of my 370 RDM's after all..........

Switched back to a 4.4m Koncept (on a correct mast) and was instantly comfortable and in familiar territory with my best run soon after, but by then I think I probably missed the best oppurtunity for a PB as the wind moderated slightly and crept even more south.

Fantastic day though! Laughing

Also fantastic speeds from Craig Hollins. He has finally started to reach the potential I always knew was there with the right combination of gear, wind and confidence. Well done mate!

Great to see Ado back in full voice as well with a great PB!! Wink

Another very solid performance from Spotty.  Smile

Shelby stuggling with wrong mast like I was. Seems to be catching! Hanging on to a 5.5m sail that was all wrong was a stupendous effort though!!! Surprised

My gear: KA Koncepts 4.0m and 4.4m, Carbon Art 40, KA Lockwood 20cm assy.

I can't get any of my masts to work in the 5.5 dr.cam,I tried my 370 x9 today (about a 2008 model) and the head was sloppy as and it was as flat as a tack around the boom

The head looked over down hauled choco although ODing it would have given me heaps of shape down low(where I couldn't knuckle it up at all),that was my first thought though so i ended up runing at about 3cm neg down haul and it still looked that bad.

Hey squid lips,I found a few "bullet lulls" behind the big sand dune that I could start carve gybes inSurprised
