Slowboat (49791km): Started at woodies cos I was on autopilot and missed the turnoff to safety bay. oops. The wind had a bit of south in it so with the tide in a little I was hoping for some epic squalls on the north side... conned norts into joining me after two false starts today. Rigged 7.0 on the slalom board and put in about 30km. Was hitting a wall at 35/36 underpowered. A rain squall came over and I was well lit but it also swung too far west and the chop along the sand bar got out of control. Alpha was from woodies, and 27.32km. Packed it in and headed to safety bay. Started on the same rig there but was hitting a wall at 37s on the slalom board. Towards the end I decided to try the nude 42 on the 7.0m and KA23 fin. That lit up nicely and added a few knots whenever I was powered up. The weed bank was wickedly flat but the tide was ripping out and it became suicidal to run over it. Waited around for a rain squall with a few of the guys hoping to get a nice run in. Rewarded with a nice little gust tucked in behind the main sand bar! Just like SP for about 30m but not quite enough pressure to blow away the scoreboard! Good fun, good crew. Hope you all had fun too.
Snides (28038km): Pelican Point, WA, AU late arvo sail at peli prob the best sail i have had in months, choppy sloppy and cold but still nice to sail the best location on the river, started on the xfire 80/evo3 7.0/delta 25 but found too many holes so plugged the sail into the ca62 /talon 34 got some strong gusts around 25ish . came in and changed masts (400-430) and had a ball. best speeds where on the ca 62..
Claude (28209km): Started at hardies and wind a bit on and off so packed up and headed for Safety bay, wind more consistant but have to use a weedy not my favourite piece of windsurfing accessory, great to see a few swan river crew down here blasting around. ISO 90, 7.0 and 6.2 for the final squall, 28 Choco weedy.
