Great fun today the smell of spring is in the air.  Bright sunshine easterly breeze - neither of those are what you would attribute with a Melbourne winter.  Big crew on the water too.  Kato, Drift, Pete, Old Salty, Kurt, James, Richie, Evan, Ash, Moondo returned from a 6 mth hiatus and yours truly.

Low tide was early so best runs came then, couldnt find a good board/fin combination, will have to keep experimenting.

Wind 13-15kts E

Wind E 12 - 15Kts

Area 45 did not disappoint with a good turn up Kato, Mick, Dan, Evan, Richie, Ash, Pete, James and Kurt and great to see Simmo out on the water!!!!!

The only thing I needed to do was to remember where the mud flats and sand bars where.  First run - Mud flats Last run Sand bar 3 " water at 20 kts.  A bit sore and a tear in my favourite sail.

LOCATION:  AREA 45

WIND:  EAST- 10-15KT

TIDE:  LOW TO INCOMING

GEAR:  CA FR77, KA KOYOTE 7.4

DETAILS:  Beautiful sunny day with a fair size crew out.  Had family stuff to do in the morning and by the time I got there I reckon I missed the best part of the day.  Wind was patchy and there was not a lot of flat water.  Hit some bizarre cross-chop on one of the return runs and did a 360' catapult.

Wind started to back off so i came in and did a fw runs accross the lumy stuff.

Good to see Moondo back out amongst it.

On the way out I noticed Pete's car was dirty so I cleaned it for him by flying through the puddle on the side of the road.

Good to catch up with you all. Good speeds allround with the wind so light. Sorry to hear about the sail Doug. Funny about those sandbars - I had no problem all morning with a 40cm fin on low tide and then early afternoon I kept hitting (only just ever so slight but enough to knock me off the plane) a sandbar middway across the inlet. Every run without fail. Decided it was time to pack up before I did some damage. Good morning though I'm finding larger finned boards are pretty much useless on the inlet these days. I think the freestyle board will be the board of choice down there until things improve depth wise.

Great to see you lit up on the supersport Pete and proven in your pb's - great stuff

Evan I was wondering why you pulled out.  Kato had it dialled.  running the boat markers up the top and bearing away down wind
