Arlington Reef -outgoing tide Wind SSE 22-30 knots RRD X fire 90 RSR e 3 6.2 Maui ultra 34

Great day on the NM run but man was it hard work .

The wind was gusty & at times absolutely honking .

Sailing upwind the board was literally lifting 1 metre out of the water when a strong gust hit .

Feet kept slipping out of the front straps & the fin was abysmal upwind today -when it lets go it gives no warning & you literally keep sliding for 50-75metres sideways .Was nearly impossible to make any ground upwind after the NM run -the chop & tidal run were ferocious .

Happy with the numbers on slalom gear. Happy to be back Safe !!!Had my doubts on the crossing heading back to GI...

Tinaroo Dam.      ...Wind up and down...Only rigged 5.9m Loft 02 because it was windy when we got to beach....Nearly gave it a miss but saw Herby suddenly get a few runs so went out.    When the wind was there it was very enjoyable with mostly sunshine.

Used the 120l Fatboy

Herby (14385km):

Tinaroo Dam with Lyn and Hans..    First half hour was pretty crappy, but then the gusts came thru a bit more often..   Still couldn't get an Nm without a jibe in it.        The sunshine made it very enjoyable...The dream is alive and I'm living it.....7.0m and S/cross 120l.

Had a mission today, Get to Arlington and attack the Nm run and get a good Hr,

But as Cam said getting back upwind was hell, so the Hrs suffered but the Nm run worked well.

Stoked with Nm Pb but Cam won the day by a Mile, Well done Cam thats a ripper Nm!Cool

Used Rubber bottom Isonic 96, VMG 5.4 and Venom 34(never let go all daySmile)

Edit: Just had a look at my tracks on Google earth and noticed the last 1/2 hr missing.

WooHoo a couple of PB's Cam & Kel and back on top, awesome effort again Tongue out I had a look at the graphs before work and knew it was going to be good. I can just imagine the conditions sailing across to Arlington Surprised Cam so close to knocking over Troppo's Nm, that's a big number mate and Kel I'm suprised your bamboo rice factory board is still going with 3/4 of the bottom delaminated, good to see it didn't breack on the return trip Wink

Looks like I missed all the fun whilst I was away Wink Great nm Kel and Cam - Looks like you guys have got the mob on top once again.

PS - found the equivalent of Walvis BAy in NZ last week too.  It was blowing around 40knots direct offshore with a coastline about 10km long. It was inbetween Wahai Beach and Mt Maunganui.  Killed me not having any gear the whole week I was there as they were getting some great conditions.  Water was bloody freezing though.
