5th day sailing in a row.

Beachport, Lake George, SA, from the spit, SE seabreeze 20 to 25,

F2 Missile, 5.0 KA Koncept, 24 choco weedie and 21 Techtonics Nomad.

had some team mates Sam, Carl and Chris D come down and keep me company today, they smoked me, I just kept getting stuck in the 37's, Had my top 10 speeds all in the 37's,

was happy with the nm as got lifted twice and had to sheet out, wind was very consistent but just didn't get to the 30 forcast.

I had a metre smaller then the crew, don't know why I didn't harden up and go the 5.8 as I had other sailors around me for once,

Chris had his first sail for a year and was right up there.

Wed  -  speed day, 5.0 koncept

Thu  -  waves, 5.5 ezzy

Fri   -   waves and out he bay, 6.6 koncept and 5.5 wave

Sat   -  bay, 6.6 koncept

Sun   -   speed, 5.0 koncept

Monday   -   forcast 20 to 25 SE again.

only had gps on a few days.

Lake George, SA, AU

Have only sailed once since Easter this year due to health issues and injuries. Was bloody great to get back on the water today after so many months off.

Day trip to Lake George to sail with Jimbob, Carl + Sam...and weird Rod. 800km for 4 hours of sailng in 20-30knots of consistent seabreeze on flat water.

Screen showed 39.59 peak, but I'll accept the 38.96.

iSonic 90 > Reflex II 6.3 > S09 29.

iSW49 > Reflex II 6.3 > F1 Falcon 24.

Love it.

Did a road trip with carl, chris and jimbob today. Awesome day. Had a lot of trouble with weed today. At one stage found myself skimming like a rock on my back after getting tripped by some weed, also a lot of cursing and stopping during the day to clear weed. Not fun when the damn 43 wide missile is so hard to get going in the first place. Went home feeling a little disappointed knowing that I had been beaten by a couple of knots by two sailers. Bloody good sailers though, Me and jimbob were .02 different in peak. Much happier after download, finding that my average was competitive. Also I did a pb nautical today witch I am stoked about. Looked back on my records and it's my first pb since mid 2009. Well done to everyone else. Had a great day today. Good to see chris back on the water. And a 39 you bugger. Well done jimbob on your nautical. Cranking. Carl was the other bugger that beat me. Well done mate. Good old rod:-)

What a daySmile.  60th birthday party last night - so in bed at 11.30pm.  Up at 3am and arrived at Sams place just after 5am.  On the road 5.30 and arrived at Lake George just after 9am.  After a few beers - thanks Chris D and a Salt and Vinegar chip sandwich (thanks Hamma for the idea of the road trip lunch) on the water just before lunch.  Great direction but i worked out 3 things i don't like - WEED, WEED and more WEED.  It was painful.  Very flat where the weed was but clumps scattered all over the place and very hard to get on the board.    The aim today was peak, avg and nautical and we all suceeded - well done guysCool.  Very happy with nautical mile pb and i am sure can better this when i buy weed finSmile.

Arrived home at 10.30pm and now i need to have a shower and hit the sack.

Great to catch up with Jimbob again - thanks for the loan of the choco 24 although you have cost me money nowWink.

Excellent to see Chris D back on the water and smoking numbers too - well doneCool.

And as usual great fun with Sam - Great pb and thanks for taking me buddy - cheersLaughing.

Lake George - 20 - 25 knots.

Isonic 50 / 25cm sl7 and 6.3m blade.

Sweet session boys, got no sails at the moment should have the new ones this week and next good forecast will head down as well, I bet that sail has got the enthusiasm back ChrisWink  Lake George would be the best windsurfing spot in Australia hands down, nothing comes close for all round GPS sailing, flat water, consistant wind, no tides, safe to sail and heaps of options depending on the wind.

Wink next time I will have to make sure you buggers don't hang around and follow me to find my nm run.

Smile well done on the pb's.

Hey sam like we talked about before we went out me doing a 35 nm with only a peak of 37 a couple times and then you go and do the same just shows how consistent the wind can be here.

Laughing Carl I was just glad to get the choco weedie back from you, glad you liked it they are a pretty solid fin. got it from second wind in WA wasn't cheap though about 260 from memory but when you can't sail because of weed it is priceless.

Frown might be the last summer for speed here as the stupid goverment have built a new drainage system to divert our lake george flows to the top end of the coorong, will be operating next winter for the first time. time will tell i suppose just hope the bloody thing dosen't work.

I can see now how you can get a good nautical with a lowish peak. Great spot. Hey jimbob isn't it funny how the two slowest {us} got the best averages. :-)

Well done on the PB's Sam + Carl (they're harder to get these days), and thanks for the kind comments everyone. I've never had such a long break from windsurfing in the 24 years that I've been doing it. I missed it, but at the same time I actually enjoyed the break (bought a motorbike in the meantime to keep myself occupied).

I thought I'd be lucky to crack 30 knots and was expecting to be hammered by the other guys, but it was awesome - I just stepped on, sheeted in, and it felt like I had only sailed yesterday! Even got my gybes. Sailing fitness let me down in the end with the onset of cramps...

It really is a great sport, and to sail at a place like Lake George with long-time sailing buddies just makes it even better.

I was surprised that my iSW49 had not sold on Seabreeze - the price was good, it's a proven board, and speed sailing is 'so hot right now' - maybe it was not meant to sell and I should keep it? Done, I'm keeping it. Time to buy some more speed fins...

Look forward to the next session.
