Kooky day at Melville, wind was swinging wildly when I went out. Very gusty so some great flat water patches. Hit one nice gust but wasn't comfy and hit some nasty cross chop - dismount with a twisting double pike, scramble to put watch back together, put hat back on etc, but got 29 on the dial. All in all a fun arvo.

Wind never really came but some very cruisy runs at the end on a super flat bar.
Well done Windxtasy on the PBs. Hope your scraped knee is not too bad
Used the Loft Racing Blade 6.3 with the top clew eyelet which did seem to give a bit better bottom end. Planing in 18 knots nicely.
Lorch Div s83 and kinetic 27 weedy (depth checking for most of the session)
This set up actually felt pretty good in the open water outside the pond. Amazing the difference moving footstraps makes.

I was looking forward to a sail after several Christmas lunches, but the wind was light; so rigged 6.0m no-cam sail and Iso 122, for light wind practice. Simon stressed the importance of light wind practice of gybes, tacks, clew firsat starts, etc. Anyway, the wind picked up somewhat and, to my pleasant surprise, and some of Simons pumping and stance advice, I got planing and had a very pleaasant time. Then the wind dropped, so back to practice.
Actually, the light wind practice opens up a whole new oppertunity for sailing when the wind is not as strong as we would normally wish for.
