Initially went down to the Beaver but after fve minutes it was apparent there were no great speeds to be had - it was choppy and not all that windy, so I beat a hasty retreat back to Melville Beach and found Slowy and plenty of others out.
Nice arvo.
JP45, Warp 6.3 and KA/ Lockwood 23.

4695 days ago Six mad charges across the spit at Pelican Pt from about 6pm. Hell choppy but low on kites and solid breeze. The new 2012 KA Koncept 6.6 is a cracker! Love that SXS / Falcon combo - timeless!
6.6 Koncept 2012, F2 SXS [08], 30 Tectonics Falcon.

4695 days ago Decided to stay local today and test out my light wind slalom setup for the upcoming NZ nationals to see if I could hold onto it in some breeze. Planning on just taking 2 sails. The new 7.8m EIV is a beast. Started on the Mistral 68cm board with a 37 fin. Got a couple of 36kt 10secs on it. Then changed to the 91 (the other board I'll take to NZ) to see if the 7.8m was useable on it. Yes it was.
Ado inspired me to change to the smaller slalom board after he came in and said how fast he was going (which was faster than my peak on the medium board). He was going like a old school gamer nerd playing pacman on whippa, eating the gusts. Nice timing there maaaaate.
Back on the medium board for the late session which was a heap of fun. Some nice bullets still for the 7.8m but was only hitting 35s by then. Great day... and those Ks just crept up out of nowhere considering I'm still not feeling very energetic yet. Been crook with a kidney infection that I only got industrial antibiotics for on Friday night. They started to work about 10 minutes before the start at lano...
