Sandy Point, VIC, Au

Up early and headed to the Pit for what was a pretty good forecast.  We had fingers crossed it wasnt going to be too West.

Today was my first go on a speed board and whadaya know!!!

Wondered down a bit to get out of the wind shadow from the dunes, jumped on and just floundered around the inlet for a bit.  Probably floated 500m down the run and utilised every profanity i have in my vocabulary in the process.  Was ready to give up speed sailing on the spot.  Eventually got to the bank and did the big walk back up the run and watched Jacques, Kato, Ado & Pete going about their business.  After giving myself a bit of a pep talk using a few more profanities i was back at the start of the run.  Tried again, got up and going and thought i'd just get down and see how the board and fin felt.

Everything felt great... at the end of the run looked at the GPS... 40.18 peak!!!!!!!!!!!! PB straight off the batCool!!!!!!

With confidence high i walked back up and sailed out the rest of the session.  Couldnt get over 40 again, but managed a few high 39's, and lots of 38's.  Must have been thinking too much, and trying to hard. Wind then dropped a bit and went too west so we all called it a day.

Seriously stoked to join the 40 club!!!

Koncept 5.0, IWC's newly aquired Speed board - iSonic Speed 50, Drake 23cm speed fin.

Got the call from Dan during work that a Buster needed help. Mission accepted. Dashed home and grabbed my 145 Rocket and 7.0 Kult. Forgot uphaul..opps, amazing what a piece of string will do. Got to the beach with only a puff of wind on the water. Rigged and coasted out past the new no sailing bouys. Gradually the wind filled a bit and so did the swells. Fun session getting some good fun rides. I'm always amazed at how well the Rocket handles the bumps and lump of the Bay.

The sun had set when did my last runs, got hard to remember which light I was aiming for.

Lots of funLaughing
