Picked up and got to play on another new toy today, a 2012 89 liter Falcon. Met Mike down at South Ramp and decided to rig my RSR 6.7 as I haven't used it for ages and the forecast was meant to get better than the 12-15 it currently was. Board felt very responsive straight off, I had a 35cm fin in it so I think that had something to do with it. It also was making it want to fly on the fin the whole time and in the chop we were sailing in that wasn't such a good thing. I had many sphincter clenching moments as I also had a badly positioned right forward strap that just wouldn't let me get comfortable. I dropped the boom a bit and slid the mastfoot forward a couple of cm's and that helped but it still wasn't great.
We went for an upwind run to Ramsgate to check out the formula racing. Had a quick breather on the beach then did the downwind run back to Kyeemagh. I think that's where I got my NM and again, considering the chop I'm really happy with it.
Went back to shore and changed down to a 31cm fin which seemed to help heaps more to keep the board on the water a bit more. Had a cracking rould the front still hooked in catapult at one point that now has me sporting a corked thigh after smashing it into my mast. Was about to call it a day when I broke a harness line (of course it was over the other side next to the runway so had to sail all the way back unhooked) and then once I got to the beach my mast cap decided to pop out the top of the sail so my day was done anyway.
All in all I'm pretty happy with the new Falcon. It has a hard time replacing my old faithful 2007 90 Slalom but I'm sure it will get there.

Tried out a Patrick 115 slalom demo board with 6.2 mk IV slalom. Board was very nice and a dream to gybe. It handled the chop really nicely and accelerated down the flat water at the speed strip . Defanitly one of the best boards ive ridden this year.

Had a ball out there with Andrew - did a couple of runs up to Ramsgate and one up to the "speed strip" at kurnell for a few runs. Very choppy and a bit cold too. Not happy being back in the wetsuit! It was an ideal day for distance with the SE just hanging in there. I was fully powered for seven hours. Ugh - need a beer...........

Light wind cruise on a gusty cold Saturday SE. Forgot the wetsuit after used to being in boardies, bugger. Was pretty light and all over the place, talked to Rexy who said Botany was windier. Water was warmer than the wind. Just mucking around with a few of the lads. Got flung round the front and twisted my crook knee, very sore tonight. Great numbers from Mike and the boys at South ramp.
Falcon 121, Evo III 7.8, F/O weedster 36.
