Coal Point, NSW, AU 7.6m Maui with 90l board had a great sail. Only recorded last sesion of sailing as used Hue GPS whent he had to go to work.

Thanks mate.

Was nicely powered with the 7.6 but you know you can feel the drag compaired to the 6.6m.

Was so nice and flat .

Weel done Andy you were flying.

Coal Point, NSW, AU

I don't understand this speed sailing business. All year I have been trying to go fast with little result. A few weeks ago I broke my 75% carbon mast. So today I had to resort to my 60% carbon. To make things worse I put way to big a fin (40cm) on my Isonic 101. then the bottom batten cracked so I had no tension in the lower part of the sail (6.8m). There wasn't even very much wind perhaps 15-20 knots.

I was getting over 30 knots speeds on most runs, but only for 2 or 3 seconds (which is why my 5*10 is so far behind). I was staying as close to the sand islands as possible and only bearing away when the biggest gust hit, that way I was getting perhaps 5 seconds of flat water before hitting the chop.
