Isaac (12069km): Mallacoota, VIC, AU carbon art slalom 58 ka koncept 66. sailed most of day without gps left it back in car, wind picked up to 20knots, had to go back so turned gps on, also got some good video of mallocuta strip working. also sailed with Saltynic from up sw rocks, told her to keep mallocuta a secret
Sailquik (29582km): It was a very nice day for a sail at Sandy today! I took my daughter for a sail on the Gemini Tandem. She hadn't been windsurfing sice she was 12, (6 years ago) but she says she had a ball. Here's hoping she wants to do more! I put the 3m kids rig on the front and 5.8m Koncept on the back. I didn't realise how windy it was until we got out from behind the dunes and we found ourselves fully planeing. Yeehaar! After about a dozen runs she had had enough so I jumped on the IS87 with the 5.8m. Yeeharr! Fully powered and flying. I did a few Alphas and then realised I had to take Talana home. Back in 10 minutes and went straight for a 1 hr. I was well on track for a 23 ave. when at 45 mins the wind started to die. I was struggling to stay on the plane for the last 10 minutes and stalled a couple of Gybes so that stuffed that. Considering the end, I was happy with the average though. The 2012 5.8m Koncept felt just sublime! I could not fault it in any way. I am rigging it on the SDM KA mast. I would prefer to use the RDM for durability, but it just seems to go better on this SDM so I will stick with that for this year and suggest some minor RDM friendly tweaks for next year. I have to say that Wolfgang Lessachers Duo Weed Rake 30 28cm fin is just perfect for one hour's. It has heaps if lift and go, never spins out and most importantly, I never have to back up to get rid of caught weed, which effectively craps on your average. Highly recommended!! Forecast is good again for tomorrow! After a pretty dismal spring for windsurfing, we are making up for it this week! The mind says I should go for distance tomorrow, but the body is arguing against it. We will find out tomorrow which wins! Oh yeah. The NM included two gybes!
Chinaman (2860km): Mallacoota, Pretty much a mixed bag today, but overall a sweet session. Started off on Manta 69w and 7m Evo 3 ,hitting just on thirties the changed down to overdrive 6m. Looks like fastest speed were on this set up so pretty happy with spped of a 110 litre. Ended up on 89l falcon for a couple runs but to knackered by then. Good to see the strip get some half decent results. Shame the old mate forgot his gps for the first session - think he has had to many consultations with bundy bear and his memory is suffering for this. Backed off in the end to give him some credability Need to put in an order for more sessions/conditions like this.
