the new guy (37314km):
4347 days ago Sandringham, solid 25 knot southerly
iSonic 90, Loft Switchblade 7.3 36cm Talon
iSonic 90, KA Koncept 5.8, 32cm Goldwing
I got down there before the wind and rigged the 7.3 after watching it hover around 18-20 as it blew through Bellambi. After 45mins it was obvious i would need to change down. The sand spit hadn't come out yet so I had some time to kill. Back out on the 5.8 and it was much better, but the wind kept building.
As the tide uncovered the sand bank the wind was starting to shift more easterly, and when the bank was fully exposed the wind was square enough to be able to sail back parallel to the speed run. It was good to get the iSonic90 out on the speed strip, and I'd love to see it when the wind is at a better angle.
I ripped open a callous on my hand yesterday and had to sail in gloves today. I still managed to rip the core out of the torn open callous again today. I could barely hang on to the boom coming out of gybes at the end of the speed run - I think I need to harden up princess..
