George from Cockys SW to S 20 to 25 plus one rainsquall for half a minute,

F2 sxs, 08 5.0 Ka Koncept, 24 choco weedy,

on bloody nights again so was feeling very average but with 6 demons here had better have a blast,

wasn't really a speed day as wind not SE but was flat as a pancake and more water than 2 weeks ago as Sw was pushing water from other side into where we sailed also overcast and cloudy so the weed stayed down a bit.

made the right call to go on the slalom at the start after watching Ken bogged with the speed board between the islands was good to gave a gybe marker Ha Ha.

Didn't worry about numbers just went out and blasted about was happy not to get wet all day was gybe city on the flat stuff just done one stint then had to be unsociable and head home for a sleep.

Barbie now has the rocks in front of the small island named after him i'm sure he will fill yous all in later.

Was great to see Jeff out on his sxs and exactly the same sail as me like twins we where and he was smoking on it.

Chris D was the man smoked me a few times today.

Decrepit hopefully try thr fin out next week just wasn;t quite the day today and on nights I didn't have the ooph to give it justice on its first run.

anyway enough crap i'm off to have a sleep.

Lake George, SA, AU

2013 Isonic W54 / 2012 Severne Reflex R3 5.6m / 2013 Vector Weed Speed 23cm 45 degree.

Great combo today on the lake. Wind around 22-28 I guess, and just the perfect combination.

Was aiming for hour, alpha and distance. The hour and distance are PBs, but the alpha not quite.

Just got back to Adelaide - knackered, but stoked.

used 89 fanatic and a 31bp weed speed had a blast with the speed demon crew at goerge great fun. i think between yhe six of us we may have done over nine hundred km :-0. No pbs but still an excellent day. Hey jimbob you could have offered to sail my small stuff back instead of laughing at me;-)

We got some wind at last at boggy tryed out my new SpeedFreak 6.5 which was nice but I think the board was too big for the chop or I was too chick to sail over the chop at full speed. Knacker my self out. Hofully sunday will just be a relaxing blast.

16-03-13 Boggy Lake-SSW 20-30 knots-Simmer Monster 100 66cm wide-Loft Blade 6.3m-C3 Sting2 32cm

Nice day but ugly water state. Worked up to top first session flying around but never comfortable enough to drive off breeze. Second short session could only go upwind and survival mose to get home.

Monster 100 was comfortable and control excellent for such a wide beast. To much sail in end.

Many other people around to that had'nt seen for a while:-)

Wanted 10,000 km's today but not to be:-(

Smile Mission was to knock out a good hour & alpha then have some fun on the speed board. Rigged the biggest sail board & fin combo for the lightest sailor there, that made sure the wind was going to build! 15 min in it started to crank & I was under the pump on the 5.8koncept just flatten her off & sailed on, then dropped the fin in the weed on a jibe & blew that 20m in the hour. So started the hour again then 45m later blew another one coming in too close & getting weed bogged. so that was the end of a good hourCry Decided to do some speed runs over the mirror flat but just as I was cranking up at the entry to the weed beds the weed hand brake came on the 28 deep weedie was just too long draging 500 m over the smoothest water was knocking down my speedFrown So then to alpha's could'nt pull of any good jibe's so felt a dummy spit comming on. Thought about changeing to the 5m & Speed board but the bog slog was NOT appleaing. Saw Chris looking like he was knocking out the KM,s so I took a big spoon of cement and set out to back up Chris on the KM's. Hung out on the 5.8 Koncept CA SL101 & a 28 Lessacher Duo Weedie. Had a blast sailing with the team.

Thanks to JimBob for the bunk in His New Van.

Edit - Must have knocked out a good hour late in the day & pulled off a sweet jibe with out tryingWink

Edit 2 Day 2 Sunday back out to Cockies & someone had pulled out the plug! the water was 200m further out & the weed beds we sailed(dragged) over yesterday were dry. Got out the binoc's & sould see dry weed beds North of the weather station that I hade trouble getting over yesterday. As the wind was only 10 - 12knt we decided to head for home.

Lake George, SA,

Arrived around lunch time to meet Carl,Sam and Chris rigged and waiting at the spot. Then Jimbob arrived. Decided to sail the sxs 90 and 5m 08 Koncept, 28 bp weedy combo and headed out with the team and settled in for a blast. What a great session it was. The combo was working a treat so didn't bother changing to the missile. After 94 kms was worn out so followed Jimbob in to find Carls Isonic in past critical condition lying destroyed in the shallows. What a loss, but Carl was OK so out with the cameras for some pics. Jimbob headed home for a sleep and I decided to wait for the others to finish. The rest of the team were on a mission and after a couple more hours came in well buggered. Ripper speeds by the guys in 25knots and well done to Tricky and Chris on km's and Sam and Chris and Carl on Alphas. Great day!!!!!!

ps Me and Tricky were going to sail Sunday morning but we pulled up at the spot to find the water gone, the strong wind from the south must have pushed the water back into the big lake, unbelievable!

Thank you Jimbob for the use of the Caravan and annexe ( five star).Smile

Another road trip to Lake George with Sam. After last years exciting day we thought we would do it all again. Up at 4am to be at Sam's house at 5am. On the way after a 750ml iced coffee and up and go i had 2 stops on the side of the road to paint the bushes for the farmersSmile. Ended up getting to Sam's at 5.30. Dropped by Gareth's house to collect new Black Project weed speed 28 (23.5) fin and off we went to lake george arriving at just after 10. Chris Dimond was there and wind only 12 - 15 knots and the lake was looking pretty shallow:-

Not long after the wind started picking up and was soon 15 - 20 so decided with forecast to rig 2013 Hot sails Maui 5.5 and used isonic 50 and new Black Project weed speed 28 (23.5):-

All rigged and ready to go and Tricky and Jeff turned up and soon after Jimbob. Wind was now 18 - 23 knots and most guys were heading out on slalom for a 1 hour but Sam and me decided on speed boards. We headed out and found out the slalom boards might have been the better choiceEmbarassed.

Took a while to get going but headed down past Barbie's island in between the 2 islands and down to the spit. Shortly after wind picked up to 20 - 25 knots. Meanwhile Sam was stuck in the mud and weed and i managed to get going while Sam headed in to change to slalom board.

With the wind picking up i managed to get hold of some nice gusts and soon had 41.2 on the screen. I attempted a 1 hour but was a little gusty so missed about 4 gybes and found it hard to get going every time with weed on the fin.

I saw Sam doing a bearaway near Barbies's island so thought i might follow him. The water started getting flatter and flatter so i kept getting closer and closer to island and bangSurprised - not once not twice but about 3 times and stepped off board to see the ass end hanging off and my new Black Project weedy badly damaged:-

My beloved Isonic 50 that i have had for 6 yearsCry.

My beautiful new fin that was so good before destructionYell.

Me cryingCry.

The end of my baby - i will now need to hunt around to replace and get another finMoney mouth.

Ended up body dragging back to shore and took the isonic 86 out with 5.5m Hot sails GPS and 31 Black Project weedy. Had a nice cruise around and managed a 40 knot screen - unreal slalom board and the Black Project weedies both felt great todaySmile. The 5.5 Hot sails GPS is unreal - effortless and pulls like a train and my body is still in one piece - sore but could be worse after the crash.

Definately another action packed road trip with Sam - cheers again for the ride and well done on some great numbers and well done to Chris Dimond, Tricky and Jeff on the great PB'SCool. Great to catch up again and thanks to Jimbob for excellent hospitality - i will stay in your van next time and eat Trickies Bacon and EggsWink. I am already pumped for next time....

Lake George - 20 - 25 knots s/w wind.

Cheers Guys.

Great team effort. Looking forward to your write up and photos Carl...

Lake George was perfect yesterday. Very flat water, with consistent winds and effortless gybing. I was keen for an hour, so I pushed hard for the first one (which felt like it took ages), then sailed into another 2 hours without stopping. It felt right. In the end, I'd sailed for 3 hours before kooking a gybe and getting wet.

Great to sail with the YP boys too.

Steve, that mast still held up yesterday, but it's got a big gouge in it now where the boom clamps on. It was making lots of funny noises yesterday, but held together till the end. I'd probably still be trying to get out of that lake now if it had broken. I think I'll be up for a new 400 Enigma - so really I should have just put that second hand cash towards a new one in the first place.

Still, that 'cheap' mast that took 4 weeks to get to Adelaide from Tasmania has rewarded me with 3 PB's this month.

Therefore... I am at peace with it.

I'm already planning my 'strategy' for Lake George next Summer... Wink

sounds like epic lake George sesh by all accounts. very impressive hour Chris, and a nice PB four-of-a-kind there Hoppy. sorry to hear about the toll Carl, but now you got a compelling excuse to go shopping!

I was on a Thommen 83 that Leon lent me. it's a thin slippery board and the conditions were very lively. seconds after i got my 2sec peak I tail walked and violently catapulted within a heartbeat...no chance to react. going over I smashed my collarbone into the mast and wrenched my ankle as my rear foot was caught in the footstrap. luckilly there was no damage to kit or body but it was a very close call.

hadn't sailed since Jan 28th (the days since that i could sail all skunked out), and now I'm off to the UK for five weeks, so I'll see y'all for the winter fronts.
