Jimbob (26496km): Woooo Hoooo ...one happy Jimbob. Finally got my 40 average, actually every run was over 40. Had to work so rocked up at 4 to see everyone smoking and big scores going down. had been talking to Ken (Sam D) for a while about swapping missiles so went ahead with it today, i now have a 52 litre/43 and Sam my 62 litre/49, we both are very happy as for our weights they both are great sizes and we both smashed it today. still ran my choco 24 weedy with my old 07 5.0 Koncept, was rock solid. was a wuss and didn't even gybe but then again hardly anyone else did either. some BIG scores going down this arvo. had a bite to eat and a beer at the pub was great to have all the crew here. lake George from cockys point, SE solid 30 and flat as baby. Thanks again for the swap Sam oh sorry I mean Ken.
Choco (14568km): Day 2 Lake George, Struggled to get any speed today the 41 doesn't seem to work with weed speed fins they just don't provide enough lift for this board and never got the board trimming right in the end I lifted my boom right up and brought the track back which did help get the board to ride better, had a reboxed ka assy speed fin in the car but dreaded walking/crawling through the mud to get it, in the end I run out of steam and called it quits, great to see so many guys flying today. Sammy (43182km): Day 2 lake George. Had another great day with some great blokes. Used jimbobs small missile instead of my extra small missile. Was good to be able to get going easier for once. Was happy with another pb today although way behind the pace. There are some awesome sailors out there in a different league. Had lots of fun watching them though. till next time:-)
Kimba (8089km): 45 peak and a better average was the aim of this trip. Didn't quite make the 45 but super happy with the average. A big thanks to Hamma for the loan of the 25 Delta Weed. Did a few runs on a Ka 21 Assy @ 43 but didn't go any faster. Congratulations on everyones PB'S, it was great to catch up with everyone and meet a few new crew as well. PJ (24612km): 01-03-13 Boggy Lake-SSW 18-20 knots-Simmer Monster 100 66cm wide-Loft Blade 7mm-C3 Sting2 40cm Gosh so hard to readjust to Boggy after sailing Lake Geoge! Boggy Lake shifty cross small chop not much flat stuff around and gusty. Tried for hour and was best could do with not many planing gybes. Handful of sail at times and prolly overfinned lol. Was treated to well at George and now some home truths at local spot!!
Chris Dimond (12355km): Lake George Starboard W44, Severne Reflex III 5.6, Vector Weed Speed 21 Yeah baby! I haven't improved my PB's for about 3 or 4 years, so it is great to finally see some fresh numbers. They're only small improvements, but improvements none the less. I wasn't trying for all categories today - just S P E E D... (edit: I thought my 2 sec might have been a PB also, but it appears not). First time out on my cost effective second-hand go fast combination. This is the gear that I will only use once or twice at Lake George each summer, or maybe at Sandy Point once every two years - so there was no point spending top dollar. The gear was great to use. The wind must have been low to mid thirties at it's peak, and the gear felt great. Hardest part was getting back upwind, but it was possible, then the runs off the wind were shweet-as! Great to sail with the LG regulars, and to catch up with the Vic crew, the QLD crew (great to see you again Cam), and anyone else I haven't mentioned. Hats off to the sailors out there today that were flying down the course at warp speed - it was a master class in speed sailing. Oh, and every run I did down the course today was over 40 knots! Congrats to everyone on their PBs. Anyway, stoked with my numbers and cant' wait to get out there again!!!
Ricky Hamood (2236km): Great to have a sail at Lake George and great to see so many quality sailers at such a high level. Congrats on all the PBS for everyone.
Hamma (12038km): Mistral Speed 41,Raked KA 20 EVO 4 5.8 Nice to have a bit more wind today bit still very hit and miss. Some nice gusts out there but hard to time them right.Should have done a few more runs and might have had a PB but to unfit, carrying alot of lead didn't help.Board and sail felt sweet but still looking for more off the wind.Great to sail with some top sailers.Well done on all the PBs.Love this place! |
