big turnout for the big fizzer southerly. Seatrend 276, 6.6 sail, 24 weedy. May have to get a 30 degree weedy if Canton doesn't clear up. Slow going at first but wind cranked up quite a lot at the end

The new vector weed speed was awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4234 days ago Canton Beach, NSW, AU not very windy and soooo much weed. 10 to 20 knots. 6.6m TR9 with 90l exsosit got the 44CA out for a run but realy was not enough wind. tried new 20cm vector speed weedy felt fast but under powered.
Dangerous amount of weed I dont know how many people went over the handle bars but I was just one of them.
nice to sail with friends must have been almost 20 people sailing today.

Hifly 275FX, Mauisails TR8 6.6, Fanatic weed 28 - Wind SW 12-18 kts
Got down there about 3pm to find lots of people gas bagging on the beach and not a lot of wind. Fortunately the breeze filled in at times and had some powered runs, but mostly just cruising. Super duper flat water, amazing feeling flying over the tiny ripples or dead calm water for 2-3 metres behind the weed clumps. Weed was crazy but no crashes for me - the old Hifly is so heavy that I think the momentum pushes through the weed, rather than stop suddenly. Momentum = Mass x Velocity right?
Had some really fun gybes in the smooth water (cheating really its too easy) and really happy to improve my alpha PB to be over 21, after being stuck on 19s forever.
Ended up sailing to sunset with the other team guys. Top day. Good luck to everyone who sails there tomorrow.

congrats greg and james great numbers
really struggled out there with the longer slalom fins you can really feel a lot of extra drag in that sort of weed
still had a good sail late arvo though
