Retired Bogan (6747km): Boggy Lake, SA, AU Boggy Lake Wednesday mid week sail. NE 13-18 maybe more in the gusts, Gareth didnt think so but looking at the observations at Pallamana and Strath into the mid 20s I reckon it was up there. Rigged 7.5Severne NCX on 136L JP. Was great, surprised how comfortable it was in the conditions. Usual up and down northerly but the up was great, reckon I did a lot more than 12k tho, sure feels like it, although the wind died out about 3 so packed it in.Saturday looks like a southerly for a change, but I have enjoyed the last few northerlies. Yeah Saturday looks OK. Have a good one tomorrow if you go
hoppybogan (26626km): Stansbury, SA, AU NW 12 -15 then 15-20+ Sputnik, 6.2 Saber, 30pro-limit weedy Was keen to sail today 'cause its been a while. Tricky and me got there around midday and thought hour and alpha today but the wind was in and out. The tide was good though and we sailed around hoping the forecast 20 -25 would kick in. We decided the distance was the way to go and settled in to crank out the k's. The wind did pick up later in the day and had some fully powered up runs close to the spit. Not enough wind for Tricky to try the new toy. Bought a set of HSM sails and skinnies and can't wait to try them after i pick them up later this year.(there in NSW). Was a good workout today
Tricky Bogan (22316km): ![]() What a cracker of a sail,a nice 15-17 knot all arvo just made cruzing real pleasant, rolled up& the wind was no were close to the 24k forcast, rigged the 6.6 koncept & on the CA SL101 & Duo Weed 36. was hard to get any good times as I hit the bottom following Jeff & went over the handle bars a couple of times. Jeff looked like he was having a blast on the flatter water cracking some great looking u turns should get some great numbers ( oh for a shorter fin I was in the choppy stuff round the edge) after a team meeting we decided to crack out some km's settled in and quit as the dark clouds rolled in & made it very dark packed up & drove home in the dark.
X (4599km): I should have rigged bigger but the BOM let me down again and I wanted to rig my Simmer Style SCR 7.8 and give it a go ......had hoped to sail it with the Patrik's but the wind was not there so went out on the bic as i was too lazy to rig bigger. Sail felt good the few times i managed to get it on the plane think it is more of a top end sail than a botttem end but that should make it fast when powered up but not in the gust crap. Jeff seemed to be going well ...pissing me off at how early he is getting his setup going but I normally sail 2m bigger than Jeff and today I was only 0.3 bigger so that could explain my wallowing. Simmer style SCR 7.8m bic techno 293 BPF Type R 50 ENE 10-16 knots |
