Holloways Beach, QLD, AU Starboard Formula 161, 9M North Drake 700 fin

Enjoyable little first sail on a Formula while overpowered. Too unfit to keep going but hopefully will be on the water more.

Decent session considering wind didn't play ball dropping in and out on each of my nm runs.  Happy with my numbers all round with another 30+kn 5x10

Green Island QLD.

Planed to push the Nm ranking up a bit but the wind was very gusty making it hard to get a full run in. Still good fun and a nice little stretch out after yesterdays distance day.

Used Isonic 90, C3 Sting 34 and Overdrive 7.5Cool

Port Douglas, QLD, AU     A bit on the chilly side up here on the tableland so I decided to go to Port Douglas.  Others that had the same idea were

Freddy,     HoppyBob,   James,    Ed,   Ian along with a stack of kiters.     Freddy was the first to sample conditions and found it a bit light, but it was

not long before he and I went out and we were both going well.

It was fantastico to be playing in the waves again, although my jibing was poor.

Port Douglas, QLD, AU

wasn't on the radar first up but as things happen Hoppy Bob and I ended up at Port with a few others....

Ed,James,Ian and Herby. Wind was ordinary as first but filled in quite nicely about 2-00 ish and was around

20 kts with gusts.  All had a good day except Ian who managed to put his knee through his sail

and break his boom doing some 'gymnastic' dismounts. Eddy perserved with his 7.3 all afternoon....

a creditable performance.

Port Douglas, QLD, AU Big arvo in Port.Fast Freddie and his coach Bob and herby the legend came for a run and caught up with James and Ian from up in the hills..Wind was a bit soft when i got there so rigged big gear 7.3m sail.By the time i hit the beach wind was pumping and every one was honking on 6m to 6.6m sails..Had a good session but was maxed out on big gear, and would of been faster with smaller sail and smaller fin..I think Freddo got' man of the match' and james got' best and fiarest'.Herby had a good session and seemed very happy..Ian was having a very good blast and was uncatchable at times..But he paid the price by trashing a sail and snapping a boom..I would of liked to of put in a bigger effort but just ran out of fuel hanging off a big sail in a choppy sea..all in all a fun arvo, and everyone went home shagged and happy.. Cheers Ed..

Bloody ell Pete, that would have been a bit of an ask in current conditions. Blowin 15-20 at times this arvo. Not what I would call barn door weather, but good on you for having a crack - good to see you back in the drink. Lookin forward to the post's from the team members that headed to Port D this morning.

yeah, Billy. It certaintly felt like a barn door when the gusts came through, but most of the time it was comfortable. My problem was when i stuffed a gybe or tack. Too much time spent  recovering and loss of energy. T.O.W is needed.

Hey Toody that's a good speed out of a futura with a 40cm fin. I could never get that kind of speed out of my old futura with a fin that size ,my Falcon won't get that kind of speed with a 40 either, was using one on sunday as well and it had the top speed of your average garden snail.Whats your secret..ED..

Sailing at Green Island all the time is the secret Eddie ... Hehehe. Had a couple runs on 97iso so to be honest 2sec may have been on that, not really sure. The 40 was too big by the way, 38 would have been better. Couldn't fault the F101 through pretty nasty chop, turns through anything with minimal input.
