Lake Illawarra: Calm - 20 - 30 knots

Yet another early start, up at 5, on the water by 7am, totally stuffed at 3pm. It was a great last minute sail, with Dave and Tim making the trek down also. The wind was up and down in teh morning, but it really settled in to a nice steady 20 knots in the afternoon.

First time at the lake, interesting, strange, a little scary and great all at the same time. Very happy Mike and Dave were there to follow around.

Great long runs and great to meet some of the locals.

Thanks so much for the lend of the fin Dave, best speed recored on Super Sport and your fin. I really have had no joy getting comfy on the RSR 6.2 at all and today was no different.

Interesting very late arvo desperation sail. Pulled up to see lots of whitecaps and one kiter out. Rigged and out. Got a few planing runs on big gear.

One or two gusts were bullets and I got smacked, ended up doing an involuntary body drag, used my head to stop the sail and belted a batten end. Kept sailing until I realised I was having trouble seeing out of my left eye. Bloody claret everywhere. washed it off and wind died same time.

Came in, checked my noggin with Chris. Just a flesh wound. back out but it died. Packed up as sun set. Hoping tomorrow arvo is better.
