Melville Beach, WA, Fun session with the Patrik 102 FSW and Gaastra Cross 5.6.

Horrible session at MelvilleFrown couldn't get settled, and struggled with whoever was turning the big fan from setting 1 to setting 10 and then back to setting 1Frown whinged and whined about the 6.4 KA, but in retrospect, it was probably my gumby attempts that was the issue today. Laughing

In the end I elected to pull up stakes, and watch for a while. Considered heading back out, but then it nuked once moreSurprised so gave it away and packed up.

Caught up with Mark, Pat, Dan, Sean, JJ and fianly met Geoff. Thanks for the gt31 JJ. Smile

Melville Beach. 101L / 7.5m.

It was cold, and when Mark handed me my brand new GPS T-shirt I couldn't wait to put it on.
The size is spot on. Very happy with the shirts. Thanks for bringing them down to Melville Mark.
Windxtasy, thanks for organising them for us.

7.5m seemed too much when people were rigging for the gusts. It turned out to be a good choice.
Had some very enjoyable runs. The sail felt stable even in the strongest gusts.
Enjoyed today very much, until I got tipped over at low speed an landed my ribs on the boom. I think I thorn some muscles off the lowest ribs. Stings quite badly.

Nice to see so many Pinnaroos, and other GPS faces, but also the whole crew that usually sail at Pinnaroo Point was there. Everyone seemed happy today.

An enjoyable session at Melville; and the first time out with a GPS.

Gear: GT-31, early 90’s Sputnik 275 and a Tushingham Lightning 5.3

It was great to meet a few of the other team members – Mike, Mark, Danijel and Sean. Spent a lot of time talking to Mark but I’m looking forward to having a yarn with all of you when it’s a little warmer on the banks of the river! Cool

Thanks for the shirts Mark and Anita. Smile

Fun day at Melville Beach, WA, AU.

Chasing the squalls with total glass offs in between which were a good opportunity for gasbagging.

Thanks to Cheryl for picking up the T-shirts and Windxtasy for organising.

Good to catch up with Macka, Scarrgo, Mineral, Obelix and meet Geoff as well as a bunch of other crew including the Southsiders mascot in team T-shirtLaughing

Obelix looked a bit poorly when packing up after a big off. Hope you are not too sore and recover quickly.

Had a couple of good drags with Geoff on his classic Sputnik and he was shifting. Welcome to the team.Smile

Amazed that Scarrgo hung on to a 6.2 on the 112 all the time!Surprised

Mile run was in the first 15 mins when the rolling chop gave a nice run down to Majestics. The trick was not to get caught too far from home when the wind switched off.

Perplexed to see Istaaak sailing in a wig!Undecided May have to try it as he was going quick!Surprised

LB 6.3, is 90, GW32 all day.

Melville Beach, WA, AU

ok last sesh before i fly out in the morning

no super numbers but it was quite up and down and very hard work for everyone

i elected to go for a bigger board and have no fears of being caught out by the veriable wind, the kit was a fair bit of a handfull to start with as i had it all setup wrong as i havn't used that combo for about 3 months but slowly i was getting dialed in but my boom was slowly getting more and more wobbly around the head and i t was getting quite bad so i hopped off in the shallows and after a bit of pushing and pulling and some investigation managed to pull one arm out of the head (WAS a mono carbon boom) so on that note sailed in clew first on the arm still affixed to the sail at both ends and borrowed a maui from darryl for a bit of a blast and some drag racing with some of the slalom boys good fun, i had a bit of pace here or there but struggled putting the power down as much as the other guys through the chop

all up good to catch up with the crew before i go on another swing and good to wash the cobwebs off some of my kit

6.2 reflex 4, 112 mistral sl, 38 fo nitro

I don't know if God doesn't want me to sail or if he's protecting me from injuring my shoulder, but everything is conspiring against me going sailing lately, even when I think I am going to have time off - work, unexpected visitors, surgical emergencies... and when I do get there the wind switches off! FrownFrownFrown

That's a very impressive first post Geoff, and on vintage gear too. I look forward to some big numbers when you get practiced at speed sailing! It's a good thing you were chatting to Lao, he is the team coach and very good at it. Glad you finally got to meet some of the team, and now you have your shirt the rest of us will be able to recognise you. It's not exactly t shirt weather yet though...

Nice distance Lao. I hope someone was backing you up.

I hope you are feeling better soon Danijel. I know ICE doesn't sound very appealing in this weather but it would be helpful for the next couple of days.

Great to see you posting Geoff.
Lao , thanks for looking after me. Thanks for advice Anita.

It's hurts somehere inside, and wouldn't know where to put the ice, so I put it in the glas of wine instead.
Seems to be helping for now. :-)
