Lake Tinaroo....Didn,t look like much but rigged the 7.0m NCX as usual on the 130l JP Slalom.     Just as I launched a gusty squall came thru so after a couple of runs I came in and put in a smaller fin.      About this time the wind moderated.     Shared the arvo with Hans and Garth.    Cool/Innocent

Back on the water after a long period of Northerlies. Hard going but a great sail.  Started very gnarly with rain squalls, big tides and chop from 3 directions. Flattened out a bit as the tide dropped, leaving some good ramps and open ocean bearaways. Fully powered up and tried hard to crack the 30 but just couldn't get there. 6.4 Kult, 100 Naisk Koncept etc. 3 others out plus a bunch of kites. Sailpilot notably absent. Should have been there Phil.

iS117W, 7.8RBlade, 44F-Hot - Lammermoor Beach, QLD, AU E 12 - 20kn

Started blowing hard last night and was really cranking this morning but was tied up so didn't get down till around 4 just as the wind backed off.  Started with the iS97 and 7.0 but that was a sinkfest so changed up.  It was dead on shore so getting out proved difficult initially but finally got the big gear on the plane.  Sailed with half a harness hook for the entire session as one half snapped off (meant to get a photo of it but was rushed) but it held together.  Wind picked up nicely right towards the end and got my peak on the last run of the day - think this is the fastest I've had the big girl.

Whoops, forgot my story. Finally on the water after what seemed like an eternity. Really good to catch up with the lads, Hoppy, Freddy, Jason and Kel. Got to try out the new "Blue Bludger" - Tushingham T4. Ssssoooo much easier to use, very happy so far. Spent the first few runs tuning and the wind was so up and down. Got caught out on my last run in and ended up with a walk of shame home. Feels good to be out on the water again. Happy, Happy, Happy.

Was thinking seriously of buying a 117 Lt carbon Isonic of Toody as a light wind screamer for next season,Had a bit of a sail on it at green Island in mild conditions i found it good, maybe a little wider than what i am used to..I was wondering if anyone out there has flogged the crap out of one with a good size sail in a choppy sea.As this is what it couldl get if it ends up in Port Douglas with me..Any feed back would be good..Ed

Ed,

I've pushed my 117wood pretty hard and it's still in one piece.  just be mindful Carbon is not as forgiving in the chop I.e. harder on the knees but should be fine as conditions are never really blown out if using a bigger board.

PS thanks for confirming payment.  Will check.

Holloways super flat guys Wink  Nice photos Bob.

Ed, Thanks for sorting deposit out - all good.  Don't think you'll be disappointed with the 117 either.  It's a cinch to plane and you can get some decent speed out of it too.
