Safety Bay, fun session with JJ and lao, tide way to low at first and a pipe running along the inside edge of the sand bar making the run tricky ,

Another day of testing and tweaking

Wanted to try the new 5.4 e5

With another mast, used a 370 with a tip extention

And found it set up and worked well only problem was it was  6.4/7.0 weather.

Used the Mistral 55  and tried 4 different fins none of which worked,  all being too

Small.

Delta weed 27,mxr weed 26,mxr wide 24 and mxr ufo 28.

I haven't found a decent fin for this board yet.

Had one bare off today  that saw weed tangles for the peak.

the gut said "just go to Melville"... so I drove down to safety bay to see JJ and JN ripping, but the pipe looked like it was going to spoil my day so I headed back to Perth. Ended up at Pt walter... despite the algae soup there were a few gusts coming through but very short. No kites. Just fudge and porka playing. 7.0m M112 CLWeed31.

Super gusty Melville, super low sand bar (did a fair bit of walking). Tried Pt W with MLanger but that was just as bad, if not worse in the gusts. Over sailed (couldn't be bothered changing down), over finned (didn't have anything smaller), put wrong harness lines on wrong boom Yell Borrowed Matty's C3 28 Sting which was much better but never felt totally comfortable out the back so stayed inside and practiced over powered gybes.

IS86, R4 7.0, LE weedy 32 then Sting 2 28

Did the run to Hardies - a bit spooky with coffee coloured water, low tide and weed patches scattered around. Did a few runs and was going to flag it but Elmo convinced me to stay and showed me a few tricks for the ailing, ageing sailor to maximise speeds at Hardies - thanks mate!

A cranking wind and pretty flat water - 2008 F2 SXXS, RSR E4 6.4, old G10 weedy 24@45.

Was all good Stroppo until i realised my new car [6000 on the clock] had been delivered with a 80km speed limited 'Noddy wheel' spare.

I specified a full size spare when i ordered it - steel is ok - dont need a alloy spare - but not a f#*king noddy wheel.

Had to travel home via the old mandurah / rockingham route - didnt want to blow the noddy wheel at 110+ on the freeway!

Great numbers, guys!

Chris, the run was 500m in the end start to finish (rather than the usual 750m) and the wind got good about 6.40 by which time I was stuffed.

There was a small window pipe free between the bottom two yellow buoys.
